Hi Paul. Mr Twoddle said the ST was the first 911 to be homologated for racing ? Was that not the 911 T/R ?

That looks great, but the ST should surely be a Carrera T with the S engine. As nice as it would be where is the weight loss coming from?
Sorry to be so negative.
The Linton stuff is fantastic.
The ST wasn’t a blend of an S and a T back in the day…although they were based on them. Probably/possibly the hardest 911 variant to nail down what it was as depending on competition use they had different engines…most had ST arches though some earlier cars were narrow bodied. Fabulous things but factory records being what they were back then and being modified cars it is hard to know what an ST actually is and whether the spec it is in today is as it was back then. They also made a T/R which was a a completion version of the 911T….similarly difficult to nail down. Sorry to be so negative.

Apart from the weight the most important thing about these cars was the competition engine so I guess it is right for the modern cars that carry these names to have something close to a completion engine which is what the GT3 engine is.
Linton is fascinating….I am sure he’s deluged with offers to do a YouTube documentary.

Thanks for the education, I knew it wasn't as simple as most powerful engine in the lightest car, which is often how they are described. They do appear to have been bespoke cars built for different races. You're right, the new one deserves a special engine.
Sorry for going off topic but I thought some people might like this. The Larousse car from the 1970 Tour de France

With regards to the posted video from ARC, it's taken Porsche 10 years to find 30 BHP in the 4.0, doubt they're finding another 30 for this model. That would be 140 BHP per litre.

I think it needs to have GT3 Radiators to not limit its appeal (Not that it'll have trouble selling)
I was/am slightly put off with the 3RS being so limited on any real useable storage that i decided to pass on a car, my Touring is more than enough for my current wants or needs.
The ST will need to be something seriously good as the Touring just ticks most boxes

you surely cant expect to be allocated these cars because you have a gt3rs and have done 22k miles over the past 3/4 years??
Average 5-6 k miles a year?
No of course not , need to have ordered a few , Macans and a Taycan or two , also actually using the car is frowned upon haha

That would be my hunch too and that's what I'd be looking for in order to replace my Touring with itI was/am slightly put off with the 3RS being so limited on any real useable storage that i decided to pass on a car, my Touring is more than enough for my current wants or needs.
