Ah yes the Riviera press car....the one that got away. It was listed on Christmas Eve 2013. I was at their door the minute Glasgow OPC opened on Boxing day and put my deposit down. Sadly being self employed and at that time of year I ran out of time to get my finances in order and I had to let it go. It went to a collector who was next in the long que wanting it. He had it for the next 8 years and it’s now still in Scotland in the hands of another collector. It was immaculate and still is. Even the ceramics were perfect.
Well, at least I can say I’ve driven it
Or you could buy Phils ?!Well, at least I can say I’ve driven it

At least it confirms up the numbers - 3 in collections and one other for sale - final answer.
Mine when collected back in 2010.

It’s not far off 997.2 gt3 RS money, my bet is your money would be safer in the RS than this one.
It will sell, but to a limited audience.
Will also depend as to why you buy it. If buying to drive ( and the existing mileage suggests you will ) then arguably it’s expensive but could well be the last chance to do so. It will sell, but to a limited audience.
If buying to lock away and never sell then price probably doesn’t really matter anyway.
I imagine someone will do the former though.
Have you been to look at that black one yet at JZM or decided spec is really too basic for the money ?

Not been yet as I only landed back from Spain yesterday, plan is tail end of next week.
I’m trying to work out if it has any extras. From what I can tell it’s only got the none cost option CS pack ?
All being well with work next week, I would
like to arrange to view it Friday.

From reading the spec and looking at the photos I’d say very few if in fact any.
JZM also have a red and white one in so you could compare with those.
If you have waited this long it’s got to be the right one although as always it’s then the trade off between what’s actually available and at what price.
Waiting for the ones like mine and Jonny’s to appear 13 years after production probably aren’t going to happen now or if they do they will be at prices beyond what you’re happy to pay.
Anyway good luck with JZM - let us know how you get on.

The reason I picked shark blue was it due to it being the closest I could get to a voodoo blue, as I wasn’t able to have a PTS allocation at the time.
My only concern with a black car is it shows light’s scratches quickly.
Shark looked good though. My only concern with a black car is it shows light’s scratches quickly.
As I’ve posted previously I’ve had quite a few blue cars to the point of being blinded by the Exige in riviera which in hindsight wasn’t a car for me.
I’ve always liked PTS - when you are speccing from new and spending a lot of money obviously nice to get something less often seen.
Black looks great … for about 5 minutes.
My wife had a black Cayenne - I said never again.

It’s probably 30/40k off a reasonable condition gen2 RS, and if you find a PTS RS that’ll be 50/70k off. It’s relative. It will sell, but to a limited audience.
Spot on 30k spread between these two.
Never seen a pts rs 997 gen 2.

I think I read something somewhere that suggested something like 16 PTS cars in the Uk. Ones I know about..
My green one
Signal yellow one belongs to another PH’r - or did
Guards red one at JZM
Mexico blue one - was part of a magazine feature a few years back

Any PTS GT3 is a truly special beast and those Riviera Blue cars look superb too. I’m glad I snapped up my PTS GT3 a few years ago.
Just on the look out for Rubystone and Maritime Blue examples to complete the collection ;-)

Mint really works on the 997 - I think its the last generation that it does, the proportions on the 991 onwards are all wrong to carry it off. If I'm being honest I think there are a LOT of colours that don't work on the newer cars. There is a Rubystar 997.2GT3 RS - It belongs to The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
