Heard from a reliable source that Porsche are making a change from the norm with the summer release of the 992.2.

GTS will be available from launch, Turbo models not being released until late 2025.

First 992.2 deliveries expect Q4 2024.

I am very keen to move from a 992.1 S to a 992.2 GTS Targa. Not sure what engine will be, MHEV or whatever- power will be upon but so many conflicting stories.

Anyone have the inside track on 992.2 and/or Targa. What something practical and GT3 isn't really that.

Colour thoughts? Same palette as new panny and new tacan? Oak Green - yum!

That's good to hear about the Turbo being delayed - presumably to further test the hybrid system. Means getting into a 992.1 Turbo now isn't going to immediately shed £££££ in 6 months.

Wonder if they will end up doing a Turbo 1.5 as with the 997. Facelift exterior and interior, but original powertrain for a year/18 months until the new engine is ready?

June release. Base & S priced £10k - £12k higher, but that might include higher standard spec..

That is brave if they are struggling to shift them at the current prices.

That would take them out of a lot of peoples budgets, especially with the increased funding costs.

You would think the pool of potential customers willing to commit to that sort of outlay wouldn't be enough to satisfy the volume they require.

Interesting.

Porsche answers to shareholders now. Meant to say €10k to €12k, not £, but they know they will have a 18 month sold out car..

zero chance there will be an 18 month wait for them. if 992.1 anything to go by there will be plenty availablre and discounts to be had. i got 3.5k off a new 992 in first batch of cars at opc i was using at the time.

Bigger at x than it would be at x+£12k.

And we know at x they have unsold cars coming out their ears.

Porsche know they have a load of customers that buy only .2 versions of the 911 range, they don’t even bother with the .1 versions. They will have no problem selling the first year of production of 992.2

agreed, plus a load of people who just buy every new version to use as their daily car / just replace it every 3-4 years with a new one

What a surprise you make it over here with your doom/ bs prophecy’s on Porsche 911 prices.. how’s that been going for you since September.? Porsche must be shaking in their boots that you know their business better than them. The cars will never be cheap enough for you son.. Sidsw, more like stshow

prices are down, sales are down, share price is down, gt market is on its arse, i think my predictions are pretty accurate. bigger giants than porsche have fallen and with their insitence of moving their range to EV, their time to fall might be sooner rather than later.

i have no desire to over pay and i am happy to wait. with nearly new 296gts being offered with 100k off at touch over 200k not long till porsche drop more. turbo s looks stupidly priced. as for son, hasnt your mom told you her little secret yet?!

Removing the analogue rev counter is a retrograde move imo.
But nice to see a manual gearbox, even if the cup holder is still in an awkward place.

Just to clarify shares are NOT down. FTSE is at an all time 5 year high

On your second point are you saying there are 296 992 GTS being offered for sale at £100k off ? actual line was "i have no desire to over pay and i am happy to wait. with nearly new 296gts being offered with 100k off at touch over 200k not long till porsche drop more"
I am not sure if that makes sense, can you clarify what you mean please
