997 GTS, Turbo S, 991.2 - Confusing myself with indecision
Discussion
997 GTS or a really nice 997.2 S are in the lead right now. With Porsche warranty.
Either way, has to be a cabrio and can't be white (wife).
Manual preferred, PDK OK. Ideally 2 rather than 4 for my needs.
The problem is finding a good one.
I have noticed that 997.2 S cabrios have hung around (probably due to winter) although GTS cabrios seem to be moving.
And then as wait goes on too long, the eye wanders. There are so many 997.2 Turbo S cabrios for sale, nice ones too. And lots of 991s. As well as all those other marques, there is no shortage of choice of modern 2+2s at the £45k-£65k mark, from DB9s and Californias to M8 Cabrios (very different to a 911 I know).

997.2 PDK Carrera S Cab coming soon on CC…quite like it in blue. Either way, has to be a cabrio and can't be white (wife).

Collecting Cars has a nice 997.2 S PDK cab (low miles, FPSH) ending tomorrow.
I could be persuaded to part with my lovely grey 997 GTS PDK with 29k miles, FPSH and 2 year Porsche warranty for £65k but it's not a cab.
Got excited there for a moment about your car - the CC one looks nice but quite high mileage. But it has to be a cab. Shame…I could be persuaded to part with my lovely grey 997 GTS PDK with 29k miles, FPSH and 2 year Porsche warranty for £65k but it's not a cab.
There was also (as a matter of record) a 997 GTS Cabrio on CC last week. A nice looking car with a slightly strange spec, bucket seats and plastic dash and PDK with no alcantara. It sold for around £50k including fees, a good buy for someone. But I wouldn’t want buckets for daily driving.
OP, you might want to take a look at Ashgoods in Slough. They have a couple of nice 997.2 cabs in stock at the moment, one of them a particularly smart GTS and the other what appears to be a good value S with a solid history. This dealer always prices their cars very competitively. No vested interest from me, I might add.

I wouldn’t want buckets for driving either but those buckets are worth £££ I think you could easily make yourself £5k selling those and sourcing a set of OEM replacements.
Thank you everyone - just back after a week away. The 997 RWD GTS cabrios around at the moment all just don't quite tick the box: there'a a nice one with full alcantara which I like but it's white, which my wife doesn't; and a black one with no alcantara which is just a bit of a shame.
If anyone knows of a nice low-ish miles non-white 997 GTS cabrio with alcantara..these do pop up only very occasionally it seems. I'm fine with PDK or manual, understanding the manual premium.
In the absence of suitable 997 GTSs the eye wanders, but this thread has put me off 997 Turbo Ss. Eye has wandered to DB9s though.

Update, if anyone’s still reading this. With no suitable 997 GTSs around and the need to purchase approaching - by next month at least - the eye has strayed.
991.2 S pre-PPF with sport exhaust and sport chrono, manual.
Porsche warranty. Great colour. V tempting.
But essentially the same engine and similar car to the 992 S PDK I got bored of…
Or, my wife is pushing for a DB9, 2014 vintage for the same as the above or a 997 GTS. I like the idea of being James Bond (I know he had a DBS) but every day…and I also like the idea of a manual 991.2. I’ve driven a manual 992 GT3, I know, different car, and loved it.
All subjective at this stage I guess.

Wise choice.
I went from 991.1 C4 PDK to 991.2 GT3 Touring to 991.2 C2 Manual - and, for ‘real world’ use, the base car is by far the sweetest IMO.
Mine might be for sale, as I do have a 992 Manual in build. It is a lovely example - pre-PF, PSE, FPSH, PTS, etc, and Warranty to end March ‘25 (just had its annual inspection and detail).
Wouldn’t want to get into a discussion here, but by all means PM me if you want more info.

Base is sweet indeed, but probably the sweetest is a manual 991.2 T.. not many about but if in budget worth taking the time to investigate another option.. the Interior T Package is similar to the GTS Interior Pack as well, which I think you were leaning towards having earlier.I went from 991.1 C4 PDK to 991.2 GT3 Touring to 991.2 C2 Manual - and, for ‘real world’ use, the base car is by far the sweetest IMO.

Thank you, folks. I forgot to remention that any car I buy needs to be a cabrio, on my wife's orders. So unless someone has one of those for sale...
Ir's so true about the T and if they'd made a cabrio of those that's what I would be eyeing.
Anyway I am going to look at the 991.2 S manual cabrio on Saturday and if I love it I may just buy it and that will be the end of this thread. If not..the DB9 question will come back inevitably.
