Had a great evening driving B roads on Monday in the midst of east Anglia. Spyder and a gt4. A gt3 991 turned up for a pint and left us in a wake of machine gun pdk gear changes. The noise of the spyder was very exciting and the over run was more pronounced than gt4. The ride was more supple on the bumpy B roads and also very similar in acceleration but a noisy pair. I then was fortunate to drive the gt4. Only done 1k compared to 2.5k on spyder. Steering more precise and just a little more exact . Even my total inexperience , this gave me a little bit more confidence on bends. The gear change was the most notable difference. I don't know if there is a difference? Please let me know. The change seemed more certain and also shorter. A lot easier without thinking about it. Noise of engine was more muted ,obviously and less noisy overrun . 2 things of difference were the steering was always alive ,a lot of attention was needed 100% of the time and with the firmer suspense the ride was making the car Bob more . A harder car on rougher roads to relax on.
( perfect Porsche then?). Great for the track and a really special experience of a lower? Gt car.
I wondered why the roads were so empty but when home 1 hour late the second half was nearly over and I did not really care. Well it would be nice as another evening of empty roads would be good. Roll on the World Cup.

Spyder was fantastic and can see the extra engineering in the gt car was impressive. But for a open top great sounding special na manual, what is there better. It is not a track car but could easily do everything with a soft edge.
This is a totally inexperienced viewpoint of a very lucky spyder owner.

I picked up my Spyfer just over a week ago. Unfortunately a poorly timed holiday means I've only managed a few runs in it. But wow. WOW. What a car! I've owned many Porsches, including just about all GT products, and the Spyder really holds its own as a special car. One of the cars I owned was a Cayman GTS, so I expected it to feel reasonably similar to that. But it doesn't. Excellent steering, stiff but compliant suspension and sublime handling. And the noise... The engine is nowhere as special as a GT lump, but easily adequate for the road. I previously owned a 991 GT3 and found it too quick and 'perfect' to be fun on my favourite roads, you had to be going warp speed to make it come alive. But the amazing gear change and emotion you get from the Spyder makes even the shortest journey a joy.

This car is a sure fire future classic. Definitely a keeper for me.

Has anyone had issues with ill fitting body panels to their spyders. The bottom of my near side door stands proud of the front wing

That's great to hear from a GT owner. I have always lusted after a GT3. I've had a few 911s & the 981 Spyder is just such a joy. I count myself lucky that its also my daily drive (although only 9 mile round trip) I get to enjoy it every day. I'am thinking of getting a round-a-round for the winter but not sure as i love driving the Spyder every day. i have regretted selling in the past my 993 & 996 turbo so I think this time it has to be a keeper.

Have you bought the Spyder new? Those panel shut lines are bad.....never had that on a new one. The plastic rear air intake panel and rear bumper also look different shades of white. Some differences are inevitable between plastic/metal and expected and may be accentuated by the photo light.

Could be accident damage from the delivery. As far as I know they are not required to disclose pre-delivery accident damage up to a certain level as long as it was repaired.
I'd go over the car with a paint gauge.

Paint protection film throws the colour off, looks like bumper and side skirts have been done . it tends to make white look slightly creamy once applied .

The car was a factory order from myself. The front bumper and and wing have a protective 3M film over them. The intake surrounds were a painted option I specified when I placed the order. As for delivery damage.. I don't think so, It was probably missed before it left the factory.

It is - The white one is the PH'r where the doors aren't aligned.

Now come on - tell me - have you sorted that bloody roof out yet ??
