Could I kindly ask for some advice please. Rashly and naively booked a trip to the ring and spa this summer. I have never been to either and having plenty of tuition on both to learn as much about the car and track.
The spyder 981 has done 5000plus miles and thinking what needs doing to protect and maintain for the 2 days.
Was thinking pads ,oil ,brake fluid , and possibly a geo. the geo bit was the specialists suggestion.
Any suggestions and guidance most welcome.
In my experience brake fluid, oil and geo will be fine, your main issue will be pad wear, particularly the rears as you can't disable torque vectoring.

If it was me I'd take spare front and rear pads, a litre of oil and possibly front disks. It may also be worthwhile sourcing replacement tyres locally.

Apart from that it will be bulletproof - I'm at 10k miles with no issues save for brakes.

They really are epic fun on track. As quick as a GT4 and roof off happiness - enjoy!

Afternoon Spydermen. Wondering if you could help me?

I'd love to return to the Spyder-fold. I'm currently looking for a UK RHD 987 Spyder. Wondered if you knew of any cars that might be for sale? ... but not currently on the market (view PHs and AT daily). Always nice to buy from owners directly. PM's welcome.

Must have:
- Manual gearbox
- Bucket seats
- Spyder Wheels
- Climate control
- Less than 20k miles
- White, Silver or Blue

Nice to haves include:
- PSE
- Xenons
- Rear parking sensors
- Sound Package Plus
- Nav
- Leather dash
- Warranty
- No more than 2 owners

Your help is much appreciated!

This doesn't state number of owners (that I can see) but has been up for sale for an age:

http://www.millenniumheroes.com/cars/porsche-boxst...

Any reason?

This has just landed at Virgin:

http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/1159/987Bo...

Great spec but Black (willing to compromise, Jason?)

Doesn't say if the white one has had a service - appears to have been due February?
Also, unless SOR the warranty can't be transferable.

Looks nice though, could be tempted back into one at that price

Jesus do you per chance drive an old 911, have a beard and wear sandals?

Thank you for this info. Have looked at the tyres and waiting for quote on Pilot sport 4s tyres. Keeping P Zeros for cold weather as still 5mm on them. On the pads , have been advised on pagid 29s or ferodo 's as same as carrera s . Brake fluid not a problem. So an overnight bag, Eng. Oil and some pads to pack.
Looking forward to the trip but a lot to learn.

Is that the black one shown as deposit taken?

Looks good. Enjoy.

Not many around with the full alcantara trim. Kick myself a bit I didn't go for full option rather than just the door panels.

I have been caught out in the rain a few times roof open, it's better not to have so much soft material imo, last time I found a bridge to hide under.

this sums up spyder ownership very well.

Looks like I will have to remember that hint when I finally get my hands on a Spyder...

Reminds me of riding the Ducati 996R .........

On the quest of finding a Spyder .....anyone know of a current owner that might be tempted into selling ?

Well this might well be the year I have to let go, so if anyone is interested then let me know - make me an offer to persuade me.

987 Spyder 2010; White; 12k miles; manual; carbon buckets; PCCBs; spyder alloys; short shift; PSE; leather trim; full Porsche service history; no radio, air con, or pcm - just pure as it was first intended - very rare!! As you would expect in great condition.

Good job Paul

I think I responded to a previous post when you were thinking about this.

I too went from Ferrari to both then just Boxster Spyder, they are great bundles of pure fizz and fun.

I hope it's great for you too.

Enjoy in good health
Ed
