I deleted my last post as the post above it was deleted saying it sounded like a 458 lol, so don't be so quick to point a finger until you know the reason why ;-)
how do you know the long gearing will clearly be the weakness ?
If it's the same gearbox as the GT4 (which I think we can likely assume it is) then judging by the reviews it will be.how do you know the long gearing will clearly be the weakness ?

I know exactly why the post was deleted as I'm good friends with the person who posted it! In his words "I was reminded of why I don't post on forums these days". I know what he means.
The car is SO much better in the flesh. I even took a picture but have not posted it because it looks no where near as good. Make no mistake this car is beautiful. I also got one of the Porsche guys to start up one of the other cars on the paddock and it is very very nice sound. For those of us who managed to get one, we are very lucky indeed.
This makes the wait for me even harder to bear
I finalised my spec with the dealer and have gone with
Solid White
Satin black wheels
Smoked rear lights
Smokers packs
Leather with yellow stitching and belts etc
Cdr with sound system plus and Bose
Telephone prep
Carbon interior parts
Going from memory I think that was it.

I took some video of the blue car reversing into the Mayfair showroom the other night, will probably upload it somehow.
Sounded great, looked great.
I "locked" my order down that night only to change it yet again yesterday.
Given the strength of the cocktails at Mayfair I'm surprised I didn't spec ceramics and every other option..
My friend collected a red 987 Spyder yesterday, looks lovely but there is a clear difference between old and new.
Obviously different price points now.

Just out of curiosity did your friend get his Red Spyder from anywhere near Slough?
I had no cocktails and still managed to Spec. mine £4K past my original configuration, when I went to the OPC to lock down the order. Like you I'm still thinking of changing a few things like Satin or standard wheels with blue?

Not sure where he got it, it was a dealer and not private though.
Good spec, no A/C.
I've gone with
PTS
Platinum wheels
64 l tank
Smoked tail lights
CD-R plus
Bose
Phone
Door loops
Carbon trim
Manual AC
Coloured stitching
Coloured seat belts
Carbon illuminated door sills (cocktail influence)
Mirror and rain sensor (also cocktail influence)
Lighting package (see above)
Keeping the PTS colour quiet for now as I don't want to be influenced and change it again!
Good spec, no A/C.

Good spec. The parking sensor/reversing camera situation is frustrating when speccing.Good spec, no A/C.
