Bar the seat dilemma, my spec is done. November build.

I'm small build 5'10, thin wife (for now) so maybe 918 seats will suit me ok.

I may change wheels to silver but satin requires less cleaning and looks nice too.

Exterior Colour Guards Red
Interior Colour Black leather / alcantara in conj. with Red stitching
Net-type wind deflector
Reversing camera
Bi-Xenon-Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+) with dynamic high beam
64-litre fuel tank
Wheels painted in satin platinum (complete) Exclusive
Sports Bucket Seats
Door opening loops in colour of decorative stitching
Storage net in passenger footwell
Smoking package
Seat heating
Two-zone automatic climate control
Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
Cruise control
Interior Carbon
Centre console trim in carbon Exclusive
Carbon interior package (with leather interior package) Exclusive
BOSE® surround sound-system
Mobile phone preparation
Audio system CDR Plus incl. Sound Package Plus

Nice.
Hoping to not have to re-visit my spec again, amazing how much it chopped and changed.

Yes, it's been annoying how much it's distracted me so glad that I have to put it to bed now! It's partially my indecisive nature, but also partially that Porsche keeps changing and adding options! Looking forward to hearing which colour you went for in future. Colour to sample is a great decision on these cars, and I love the fact that Daro911 up the road from me has a voodoo blue one on order cool

Great spec TB and go for the 918 buckets and have zero regrets as you know you want them laugh

You will all want to get hold of a copy of Christophorus #372, just come out.

My copy has just been chucked in the paper recycling bin unopened.
Never read it....

I ordered my Spyder in the end of last year without knowing anything about the car. At that time I already had ordered a GTS but when the rumors came about a new Spyder I hurried off to my Porsche dealer in Stockholm. My contact was very kind and let me cancel my GTS to go for the lighter and faster car.

I was promised to get the first car in Sweden (in the end of July/beginning of August) but when they told me there were some problems to get the LWBS in the Spyder I decided to postpone my delivery and and let someone else get my June production slot. They still can not confirm the P11 seats but I am hopeful now when I saw they are back in the configurator in UK. My car will probably be built in september and delivered in October. I am so excited!

However, this is my spec,

Exterior Colour Agate Grey
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)
Interior Colour Black leather/Alcantara with stitching in Racing Yellow
Wheels painted in satin platinum
Smoked taillights
64-litre fuel tank
SportDesign exterior mirror lower trims painted in Black (high-gloss)
Rear side air intake grilles painted Agate Grey)
Fuel filler cap with Aluminium look finish
Light Weight Bucket Seats
Door opening loops in colour of decorative stitching
Racing Yellow seat belts
Smoking package
Two-zone automatic climate control
Cruise control
Reversing camera
BOSE® surround sound-system
Mobile phone preparation
Audio system CDR Plus incl. Sound Package Plus
Carbon interior package (with leather interior package)
Centre console trim in carbon
Door sill guards in carbon, illuminated
Gear lever in carbon
Steering wheel rim and gear lever in black smooth-finish leather
Sun visors in leather
Net-type wind deflector

Yep...I've stayed with Rhodium Silver. Had a long think about Voodoo Blue but stayed with the Silver in part as I've a Macan coming next month in Sapphire Blue.

Had a call today postponing my Spyder drive at the PEC from July 15th until late August. Not sure why. Thought they had a car there but maybe it's had to go back or has been broken. Anyone else heard?

Car & Driver review of the 981 Boxster Spyder that reads like Mr D wrote it armed with a thesaurus.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2016-porsche-b...

To be fair Mr D you (and the reviewer) are right about the 3.8 GTS factor to a large degree, however I would level some similar criticisms at the 987 spyder too - these cars are clearly compromised to fit a marketing niche as usual from Porsche....

I'm still very happy to buy one, but I'd be lying if I said some of the points the reviewer makes weren't true.

And of course there was no 987 GTS to compare the last Spyder to.

DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
Yes exactly - if the GT4 is to be compared to the previous cayman R then this is the case, but in reality there is no R this time.

Because of the Spyder having a bigger engine than the S/GTS you could also argue it's more of a different car than the last one! Depends on your perspective. Porsches have always been about handling though, so in that respect I'm with Mr D in terms of what's important.

The fact is however they already created the sport chassis and made it available for the "normal" boxster this time, so to me that's the main difference in the line up this time...
