Boxster Spyder

I don't think I've ever read such a load of pretentious codswallop!
While the language isn't to my taste either, I can't disagree with the substance of most of it. That said, while there is a modicum of truth in the reference to the old 914/916, the reality is that the 981 is far closer to the 911 than the 914/6s ever were - and Porsche's reluctance to give it more power is much less excusable.Agree.
The biggest question about this car for me is whether it will be the last flat 6 boxster.
Here they seem to think so:

If so it will have a certain 993 factor over time IMO.

Perhaps the first video review of the 981 spyder in the Brisbane times:

Had a call today postponing my Spyder drive at the PEC from July 15th until late August. Not sure why. Thought they had a car there but maybe it's had to go back or has been broken. Anyone else heard?
I just spoke to PEC today and they don't have a car yet, hoping to get it soon but no firm date apparently. TB303 said:

Plus even more pure as it doesn't have any of the electronic bits of the GT4.

A little bit quicker and more agile than a GT4 because it's lighter........weight matters!

weight does matter hence why the older Spyder is better still, shame the new one weighs so much :-p esp when ALL owners will add back in AC and radio :-)Plus even more pure as it doesn't have any of the electronic bits of the GT4.

Mr D I wanted to leave air con out but got told that if I wanted heated seats had to put back AC. So what would you do then?

I would put AC and PCM in the new car and try and use the car more, in todays UK weather the roof will be always up lolMr D I wanted to leave air con out but got told that if I wanted heated seats had to put back AC. So what would you do then?
If it's a quite roof, one could use the car all the time and it will be great.
If I wanted a purer car I would save £25k and buy the 987.2 Spyder. but I have only driven my Spyder 5 times this year , it's def a 3rd car.
I like what Porsche are doing, but I so wanted a 981 Spyder to have a really trick R8 style roof, so went GT4.
Sunday Times Driving video review.
Not the most detailed review, but gives you a very good feel of the noise from the driver's perspective somehow compared to the other videos:

Stock video versus review video perhaps, but shabby journalism in any case.
And to suggest that a road as narrow as that with such limited visibility was a sensible place to demonstrate the cars capabilities (except perhaps the ability of the exhaust to echo off the rocks) - is ludicrous.bcr5784 said:

Think Sutcliffe was using the same roads too, which might suggest staged reviews by Porsche on this occasion.TB303 said:
