I think £44k is a fair price. There are others with more miles still around the £40k mark which would probably sell around the £38-39k mark.
unless it is in an opc with 2 years warranty it is still overpriced at £44k!opc have a 12k miles car at £43990 which is the highest priced car in opc network

I think at this time of year you should get that for closer to £40k buyers market at the moment!
Sold my top spec low mileage(less than 4k) car in the peak of the summer for £46k although it did need major service about now so I would say £45k ish is the top end of the market for these cars with low miles and exceptional condition and less at this time of year!
Yes there are others for 36k on auto-trader with 40k+ miles. This one is decent spec and is 18k and the particular car is on SOR. It sounds like there is a little room for negotiation from speaking to the guy...Sold my top spec low mileage(less than 4k) car in the peak of the summer for £46k although it did need major service about now so I would say £45k ish is the top end of the market for these cars with low miles and exceptional condition and less at this time of year!
Very hard to tell if there is actually a desire for them and if it will hold value well or not but I love the looks of it and it is nice having a porsche 2 year warranty and everything else that comes with it being a porsche 'approved used'. It would be a step up for me in terms of spend on one car but it seems like a great car. (haven't driven it yet)
The used 987 Spyder market is flooded, no doubt with current owners looking to off load them prior to getting their new 981 Spyder.
Combined with time of year an being quite a niche car I can see prices dropping to between £32-40k in the short term.
Longer term I think they'll main their value.

I'm very lucky to have both but my absolute intention is that I will always keep the 'old one'. It's such a beautiful car, amazing drive and special experience. I think that's what will drive values for the 987 and IMHO it will the more valuable car in 5 years time (let's see).
ThanksHow bad is the noise with the roof on at 70-80mph?

We currently have 2 cars sitting at £37k with 42k miles. If we get a proper high-mileage Spyder e.g. 70k+ it's likely the price is going to be in the low 30's. Not saying low mileage examples with the must have spec are going to drop like a stone. At ease.

Hi, I very rarely have the roof on, but I would say that it's generally a noisy car (and good for it). However, I've driven it for a couple of long distance trips and it's fine - I think at 70-80mph it's drivable all day long. However, I'm now 40+ and would not have it as a daily driver (but having said that, it's 500% more refined than my Elise Mk11 which I used to drive every day.How bad is the noise with the roof on at 70-80mph?
Hope that helps.

I am certainly not worried about a bit of noise. Also have an Elise with quite a loud exhaust so the Porsche will feel rather luxurious to say the least. I think a test drive is in order.

Best to just assume you won't be able to hear music, sat nav or a passenger at this speed, as the wind noise is quite significant due to the open design; but it is all part of the character of what is an amazing car.How bad is the noise with the roof on at 70-80mph?

Sorry to de-rail but I am considering a deposit on a 2011 spyder with bucket seats at 44k and 18,000miles and PDK.
What is the latest thinking on future value/depreciation of these? Seems there are always a few for sale.
Thanks.
£30k for PDK and £60k for manuals :-) What is the latest thinking on future value/depreciation of these? Seems there are always a few for sale.
Thanks.
No ones knows so it,s pie in the sky talk, go back 12months and they were rare as hens teeth, just a few cars up ATM due to the 981 spyder.

Popped into OPC, Hatfield this morning, salesman mentioned they had two new 981 Spyder delivered yesterday. Anyone here due to pick their car up?
Called them this morning in the hope of a cheeky look and they denied any Spyders on site at all! anonymous said:

I had a similar experience with a UV coloured GT3 RS I wanted to have a look at which an OPC had, but was told the owner gave specific instructions that no one was to see the car, which was ready for delivery at this stage.I believe it stemmed from a previous experience when he had a car at a dealers, and pictures of it appeared on the internet before he'd seen it himself. I can see his point of view on that to be fair, so maybe the same sort of thing.
