st - just read the PH review and wished I hadn't cancelled it now - bloody forums confusing me , anyone want to buy an old Spyder from me ? Re the article - comments on wind noise - I didn't notice the is on my PEC day on the open road - it was very quiet if cruising with the SE off.
Re comment on manual being a pain in traffic - it's got that amazing thing where the car holds a steady speed without stalling no matter what gear you're in - this was new to me and so clever - so let's say you are in 6th doing 70 mph - traffic ahead , slow down to , say , 15 mph , take your foot off the pedals and it will carry on at this speed forever , like an auto box crawl mode until you run out of petrol - when your ready hit the accelerator and off you go again (completely smooth increase in power ) As I say , so clever - I had no idea this existed - blew my tiny little mind

Interesting what is said about the rigidity v the Cayman. I find the structural integrity of the Spyder incredible.....there is no scuttle shake whatsoever and the windscreen rear view mirror is as stable as the GT4s.Reference was also made about 'tiresome traffic' driving presumably referring to the clutch....which is nicely weighted and has a different feel to the much heavier GT4 clutch btw.

Quite a lot of chatter on gt4 thread about allocation numbers today.Apparently Dealers supposed to be hearing about spyder numbers by today as well.Anyone heard anything?
I know allocation of one OPC - 3 first allocation , 2 more recently - apparently no more than that . This is 1/4 of the GT4's they are getting - very rare car the Spyder TB303 said:

now who's going to be the first to transplant the GT4 suspension setup over to the spyder!!!
The Spyder doesn't seem to need it - understeer is not an issue at all. Oversteer is another matter on standard settings. That may all change on pilot cups though!! On the other hand you can't beat a bit of tinkering and man spending

Looks great in red.
What was the stand out "wow" thing you loved so far ?
I would have to say the 3.8 engine. Having it in the very stiff 981 chassis is just brilliant. To me the 981 chassis feels leaps and bounds ahead of the 987 but I recognise you will have your opinions on that as you've stated many a time. What was the stand out "wow" thing you loved so far ?
Driving the car today I was also left wondering how great the GT4 must be, knowing that it is a "better" car.
Seriously, for all the forum chatter the Spyder is a brilliant car. I know you like to bang on about steering feel, gear ratios etc. but this is a heck of a package.
