Boxster Spyder

Thanks TB for your summary. One of my main concerns is ground clearance. I have to go over a couple of speed bumps to get to my house! Hopefully there will be enough to get by. I agree about the need for a front lifting system as an option. What I am looking forward to is the extra power. I have owned a Boxster S and Cayman Si. Both could have handled more.
You'll be fine over speed bumps - I've been over plenty and it's fine. The power of the engine is great and I've not even got to the peak power yet.
That's it on spyders and gt4s.I phoned round 32 uk dealers today for chances of either car and was told by EVERY single one of them, that there are no more cars on top of existing recently confirmed orders. No extra cars,no cheeky stragglers, nowt. And turns out there are a lot more gt4s than spyders as far as totals are concerned.so if you managed to get either car you have hit the jackpot, you lucky buggers.

My dealer said the same - no more. A friend was interested in a car but it's not possible. One deal is getting 15 GT4s by comparison.... make of it what you will.Is this Spyder a baby Ferrari 16m/Speciale Aperta - future classic?

Fashion Grey / PCCB / 918 buckets / satin black wheels / yellow stitching etc. / other stuff
Very jealous of this! I have just ordered mine, really wanted PTS but dealers says it is no longer an option. Mine is due March/April.Fashion grey would have been my preference! If you want to swap, let me know 😀
Well I really struggled on colours. I was tempted with yellow, but already have a yellow car and it will never be as good as what I have. I have had loads of blues, personally not a fan of bright red, though does look good on the Spyder.
I ended up with solid black, but may paint the 'Spyder' badges yellow. Other bits include 918 seats, PCCB, Yellow Stitching etc..
It hasn't gone to lock down yet, so still time to change my mind, and it's filling my every hour at the moment!!!

I think that will look very good (not sure about painting the badges though) This may help :I ended up with solid black, but may paint the 'Spyder' badges yellow. Other bits include 918 seats, PCCB, Yellow Stitching etc..

I was torn between GT silver, Agate or white.
Would have liked yellow but don't like Racing Yellow.
When PTS became available it just made it even harder!
Originally I went with solid Slate Grey a la Steve McQueen 911 Turbo.
Then I thought that might be a bit too dull.
Most of the PTS colours seemed to suit 911s more than other Porsches.
So, I lightened the grey to Fashion Grey as it is linked to a non-911 car.
Black with yellow will be awesome, especially with PCCBs!

My advice is check your lock down date. Mrs 1606ian and I finalised our spec at the dealership last Saturday and at that time the lock down date was 8 December. Typically, I spent the following few days debating our chosen spec and eventually came up with a couple of changes which I told the salesman about yesterday. When he made the changes on the order the system said that the lock down date had passed as it was now 2 December (which was the original date when I gave the outline spec back in October). The build date had also moved forward from 20 January (as per last Saturday) to 14 January. The salesman assures me that he managed to get the changes through and that they are on the build sheet. Let's hope so otherwise I will end up having painted roll over hoops (which I no longer want) but no Bose sound (which I do).RSVP911 said:

The whole colour thing is tricky , I tend to change my mind almost daily - trouble is they all look different in various photos and also in real life , depending on the light - I've gone :Metallic Black , then Agate (both with yellow hilights) , followed by GT Silver with Red inside (+ Steels) , back to , Met Black (yellow highlights) Now debating Agate once more (Yellow highlights) . It's a bloody nightmare - dealer must be about to kill me (understandably) The good news is my wife has put a stop on Guards and White , which is good as this has made it a tiny bit easier
