always looks good in pics, in real life always looks naff and now to over done, I had a lucky escape imo and canceled my PTS blue lol was just annoying I could not change it to some thing else !!!!

colour choice was dire when I ordered, no Carmine or CMW or Sapphire Blue , could not not swap PTS so it was white or yellow really as imo dark colours also look naff on the GT4, but do suit the 981 Spyder.

the whole GT4 ordering was a mess esp the 8 week buckets delay and the like plus 3 of the main colours not available !!!

Even with all the standard colours available there was nothing really to shout home about. Shame.

Riviera was definitely my colour on the previous Spyder. Not so sure about the current model.

Question - turns out mine left the factory yesterday (3 days early) and I imagine I could pick up about the 17th Feb - I realise this is very close to the new reg and I'd happily wait - however the OPC have asked me as a favour to register in Feb - I am happy to do this assuming that this is virtually a financial score draw come re sale : the allocations are so small that it may not matter which year plate the car is on ?

I know everyone will have a view , but I was hoping someone would be able to comment after having real world experience of this with the last Spyder.

My guess is if I sell with in he first year or so it will not matter , but at year 3 it may ???

I want to help the OPC if I can as they have been very good to me in the past smile

Cheers ,

RSVP911
I think TBH after 3 years most buyers will be looking at mileage and spec, not the year or month registered.

FWIW the dealer buying in price (on Parkers) for a 2013 13 plate cayman S is £900 more than for a 62 plate one. While the assumed mileage for 13 plate will doubtless be less and difference in value also - it's still likely there will be a few hundred pounds difference. Certainly worth thinking about.

Can only be 1-3 of these in this colour in the world, if not the only one!

Wish I'd done it and just found the extra money from somewhere. Damn it.
At least you had the option with the earlier model. I wanted CTS with the GT4 and Spyder but frustratingly wasn't able to get it. Real shame that Porsche don't seem able to accommodate it at the moment. Seems like an easy £3k!

I really wanted a Riviera 987.2 Spyder. Must have spent hours drooling over this...

+1

I'm a red sports car fan and am loving my GR 981 Spyder, but I'm with you, this was the picture that had me when looking back in April/May.
I don't think it suits the 981 so well, but really sweet on this 987 Spyder.
Having this car in my garage would be very cool !

Thanks for that. So I guess it's the green areas?

Yep. But also think it includes the large middle section (lower panel) in alcantara. Didn't think that was standard - although could be wrong & seems costly for a couple of end trim bits.
Actually on re-reading the configurator info on it - think you might be correct.
Have decided to ditch that option - didn't fully realise how little was covered. But decided to add key pouch in leather! That's me done! I hope smile

I have 5mm wheel spacers on my Cayman S which I am thinking of putting on my Spyder. Any views on whether it would be a good idea or not? I'm guessing it would be a straightforward swap over with not technical or fit issues.

SFO's fault. He's subliminally pushed me into the alcantara sun visors and the leather key pouch!

Very funny. Resistance is futile. I would never have thought about them until I sat in the PEC car inside the centre - they feel quite tactile. They have since been on the 'nice to have, but not essential list'. I have already weakened & got leather key pouch laugh

It's not even funny. I had absolutely no thought of going with that bloody key pouch until you suggested it!

Just found out something I didn't know at the dealership today. I wanted a look in the boot but apparently you can't open the boot without first unclipping the two roof clips at the back first? I know its nothing much but hasn't really been mentioned in any of the videos I've seen.
