Yep buckets are a must! The hippo car is a good spec but can't resolve myself to the grey!
Agate looks great on the Spyder : It's a really nice colour in real life very deep and rich - a little like the classic 911 Slate (Steve McQueen grey) However , I don't like it with the black wherls - these look better : (also PCCB's and Agate really work well together )

I actually prefer the black wheels with Agate. Looks a bit anaemic with silver.
Disagree - I think the one for sale looks perfect with those wheels and smoke lights - right seats (assuming they are heated - "wrong" ones if not): very nice car - must have been fun if it's got 3000 miles on it already . Edited by RSVP911 on Monday 8th February 07:46

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Spyder and now its time to move it along, getting GT4 in 2 weeks. If anyone is interested in a Agate grey 3000 mile Spyder, please PM me.
that looks stunning, almost looks like black in the pictures , so what forced the decision to switching to the GT4 ? Personally the tin top was never in the equation for me , I concluded you can have all the benefits of the Gt4 with a Spyder but you can never feel the sun on your head with a Gt4 Ps worth mentioning the Pm doesnt seem to working on here , I almost missed out on my Spyder through it, luckily the seller posted on the thread he had sent me 2 messages and I popped my phone number up and he got in touch

I originally specced black wheel then changed them to silver, I thought with the black wheels, you couldn't see the detail. I am OCD about the small details - The Silver wheels matched the Silver stitching, the red belts matched the callipers, the interior trim and painted key matched the exterior colour and finally the bucket seats are heated... I bought the car as a daily, so I put on approximately 60 miles a day, therefore its quickly pilled on... My car listed at approximately £71,000.

The Spyder and GT4 are very different cars.... A friend of mine did a back to back Spyder and GT4, the differences are quite substantial! I was in the same view that they are almost the same car, but that's not the case.
The Spyder believe it or not was more alive, much much louder (not due to the being a convertible) and a lot more mid range torque. The GT4 felt softer i.e. better damped but ultimately the GT4 dynamically is more capable.
One of these cars will be a daily for me, therefore GT4 is quieter etc... on my motorway journey into work everyday. When I take it on track in the summer it will also be slightly more capable, thats my rational.

must admit I was shocked at the level of road/wind noise on the Spyder having come from a standard Boxster, I kept checking the window was up ! and yes I can see as a daily I can understand your logic. The Spyder and GT4 are very different cars.... I don't deny it looks classy with silver wheels but I think more sporty with black.
I'm actually starting to prefer the folding buckets to the LWB option. They have a slimmer look. It's amazing what you can convince yourself into
I think you are right - the slim silhouette at the top looks much better on the Spyder - it's something to do with the profile when the roof is down - they are a must if you go with the Classic Interior(red) as the 918 buckets cut the top of the seat in half and the colour looks odd on them - 918 buckets will be fine on black leather though as tonal with the carbon. Also they can be heated - I want to use mine all year round - nothing better on a sunny winters morning , roof down , warm bum - it makes perfect sense I'm actually starting to prefer the folding buckets to the LWB option. I've gone against my principles and revised my spec to include PCM, BOSE and DAB! I must be coming down with something!
