I noticed that the plate is fitted a few millimetres too high. You can just see the lower edge of the plate plinth.
You having the front plinth fitted, or sticking with no plate at all / vinyl option?
No front plate plinth. And initially no front plate. May fit a stick on at some point.

Nah, that doesn't work. I'm going without, but with a plate with thick sticker pads on the back just in case.

WARNING --- I was out in the car last night. I thought the roof was totally secure and the out riggers secured correctly. I had driven it for about 15 miles at motorway speeds. I then had a chance to open her up at about 100mph one of the outriggers popped out and started banging against the boot. By the time I slowed down and stopped to look at the damage this was the result. Lesson double and triple check the out riggers are really secure. This will be an expensive mistake. mad
An American owner also had the same happen, its posted on the Planet 9 site. As you say, unfortunately for you, its a lesson.
Hi, looking for the post on the planet 9 website re the Fin / outrigger coming loose or any other evidence reported to Porsche. Can you provide help.

I did point out some time ago that you don't have any missing speakers with sound package plus ie no rear speakers,as for the damage to rear deck I think porsche should be made aware of this and be repaired under warranty as failure of part or part not fit for purpose.
The OPC have confirmed there should have been speakers as per the sales spec. A ticket has been raised with the factory and they are trying to figure out how to sort it. That is what I have been lead to believe by the OPC. I will update the forum when I have a firm agreement on the way forward. By the way they have been looking at it for a month now !! I also know that the last car supplied by the OPC ordered with SPP did have rear speakers. This was confirmed by the workshop manager who specifically checked it when it came in.
Hi GT4P - Just had a call from the OPC confirming that I should not have been able to order SPP without the upgrade to PCM. It is a bug in the software configurator. Porsche have offered me my money back for the option and apologised for the inconvenience.!!
I am thinking about my response given the fact that I am seeking them also to fix the problem with the outrigger fin coming out.

Strange that you can order spp without pcm like I did on the gt4 but not the spyder!
I know with my previous spyder and 986 boxster which both had spp you got no rear speakers only Bose gave you a rear speaker between the seats.
Maybe another 981 spyder owner could shed some light as I might be wrong but could opc be feeding you a porky because they forgot to tick the ssp box!

Do you have PCM/ Nav with SPP? They are saying the head unit for the non PCM version has only two outputs and you should only be able to order SPP with PCM. It would be very interesting if you have rear speakers and no PCM in the GT4. I very much doubt if Porsche would have two different units.

Can anyone on the forum confirm they have SPP without PCM and rear speakers ?

Yes I have spp , no pcm and rear speakers but the Cayman has always had rear speakers regardless of pcm or spp whereas the boxster has not.
Hence my initial reply with spp in the boxster you get no rear speakers only Bose gives this

Same for me.
You're right, no SPP equals no rear camera.

No rear speakers though....

Did the OPC make you aware at the time of ordering that there would be no rear speakers with SPP (i.e. the description was wrong?

My OPC has forwarded my questions to Reading to see what they say.
I said that I had chosen this option specifically down to the description on the website, so lets see what they say.

No doubt they will say, no one else has raised this question smile

Does anyone know if there would be any wiring already in place for rear speakers ??

To be honest I didn't pay that much attention to the spec...
I knew I should be getting more speakers than the basic package, but my main drive was the rear camera and a digital radio.
I expect I was also a bit caught up with the fact I was about to buy a very shiny new red sports car !!!!

It does seem a bit mad that the GT4 gets these rear speakers though.

Look forward to see the outcome.

Here is my new Spyder.

Got it from Porsche Sheffield. Very impressed with the service and the car so far.

It's not brand new, it's done 2,000 miles.
