Quick question , tyre pressures on the spyder - what psi is best?
I love my spyder , and have not seen another one yet on the road . Mine is white
With black wheels , but seeing yellow/black at PEC last week made me think again on my choice. Yellow looked awesome , don't think anyone on here plumped for it though?
Mine also white + black wheels. I agonised a lot on colour, interior & then wheels. Must say it was worth agonising over as it looks absolutely stunning. The Spyder suits most of the colours tbh which also made it really hard. Think you need to be brave to opt for yellow smile

I have sapphire blue + black wheels, I agree the colour choice was the most difficult thing to spec. I've seen a couple of yellow Spyders. Yellow with platinum wheels looks amazing. I owned a 987 Cayman S in the previous yellow colour. It looked amazing also, it did get lots of attention, both praise and abuse. It was in your face, I loved it I would have another in yellow but chickened out this time.

I think Yellow is nice but with Red calipers it looks out of place IMO and to spend the £££££on PCCB is mental + point no brake dust which does my head in constantly cleaning them .
I went for Satin on my Red one this time but like the Silver on my 987 Spyder .The quality and finish on the new wheels is not as good as on the 987 much softer paint and marks very easy and the inside face is like sand paper compared to the older wheels

Ouch ! I can see a lot more 981 Spyder getting wheels kerbed as the shoulder on the Pirelli's is non existent compared to the Michelins PS2 on the 987 Spyder I think I am right in saying the GT4 has different wheels and tyres to the Spyder

I have not heard a stock Porsche that sounds any better than the Spyder - the exception may be the GT3 / RS.

The only possible time when a GT3 /RS sounds better than a Spyder is approaching the red line from INSIDE the car. From outside and all other times the Spyder is a clear winner as demonstrated by the yellow car at last years Goodwood.

no one knows, a few dealers got more Spyders than GT4 upto 7 or 8 Spyders !

but most dealers got more GT4 over the 35 OPC's

Spyder will be anywhere from 150 to 300
GT4 from 200 to 500

time will tell, the org UK allocation was 150 Spyders, 200 GT4's but we know loads more of both came in.

Sounds about right on UK numbers. Certainly a lot more GT4s than Spyders landed in the UK.

Licensing figures confirm over three times as many GT4s as Spyders 2015 quarter 4.....214 v 69 either licensed or 'sworned'.

Note that OPCs owned halo vehicles still cannot be advertised for sale. Only 1 981 Spyder at Cardiff OPC 2015 1500 miles lowly poverty spec at £90k.

But yes, Spyder numbers are higher than we first thought.

No dealer got more Spyders than GT4s.

120-150 Spyders coming in. Up to 400 GT4s. My local dealer has put out 15+ GT4s. I was in their storage yard last week and there was 3 new ones sitting ready to go out.

Nah....Seawise on here had the first UK GT4 delivered from his OPC 28th October 2015 according to his thread which would be typical I suppose. My Spyder was my OPCs first mid November and my GT4 was the OPCs second in mid November, again fairly typical. biggrin:

Doesn't matter how many they have made you still can't order either from OPC so really more need to be made.
Had my name down for a GT4 for 18 months never got one after tried to get a Spyder never got one of those either.
Not in the position to pay the vast over list prices.
Roll on next Gen Spyder can't be quick enough as long as it's 6 pot.
Been a good customer of Porsche they really hack me off when they do this.

Seems allocation is a lottery as the poster above you got both models and you got neither. I was supposed to have got the first one in Scotland when I enquired months prior to launch with a letter of interest as I had a 987 Spyder from them and when they where announced in April 1st was told sorry no deposit paid and your spot has been sold .
I decided not to bother as they could not guarantee any going forward as they had taken a few £5K deposits along the way .Then in Nov I decided to try and see if any where available emailed every dealer in the U-K and got a choice of 3 slots so they where available just a matter of timing it seems .I ended up with a May delivery in the end but had a choice so again it seems a lottery .
TBO loyalty means nothing it seems show us the colour of your cash .I have no idea what numbers are in the UK but told under 200 .The new one in 3 years time who knows what engine will be in it .I for one would have the 987 over the new 981 if I were to sell one .

The next generation Spyder is probably 3 or 4 years away, they come out at the end of the production run before the next facelift /gen 2 models... Sounds like you need to change you sales contact to someone who appreciates your custom. Have you picensoreded him of by squeezing his margins. punch see if you can get a commitment now or change you OPC

Hi Woodysnr, thanks for letting me see both your Spyders this afternoon. They are both fabulous and a credit to you. I now understand the merits of both now and why the 987 is so special to you.

A lot is down to timing. My story is similar to yours. I contacted over 20 OPC's just before Christmas & struck lucky - an OPC had a customer who wanted his deposit back as he changed his mind. I also got a May delivery. I can't believe it though is the number of OPC's who were still happy to take a deposit from me knowing all allocations had been sold & no further allocation expected.
