Standard /sport / sport plus
On the spyder , can anyone explain the difference.
Obviously sp gives the blip and automatically turns on the exhaust and relaxes the psm.
I am loving my car , what a treat , money well spent.
Thanks!

I saw that advertised a day or so ago . Sensible miles and price , right colour , wheels , seats and manual but from what I can tell no Chrono , PSE , SS.

Looks full lightweight spec no air con or radio which is no big deal , but lack of Chrono and PSE isn't ideal .

Chrono isn't essential on a manual.

Agree not as essential as on a PDK, but it does from memory sharpen throttle response and back off some of the safety net doesn't it. Allows increased angle of slip etc before intervening ? The difference sport on or off on my manual was noticeable , although ultimately it probably had no impact on performance , more just feel.

If I hadn't just bought a Targa GTS, I think i'd probably have took it .

Had an odd experience today.
My Spyder has just clocked up 3000 miles.
Today, pulling away from traffic lights, the clutch pedal stuck nearly at the bottom of its travel but I was able to change gear depressing the pedal the short amount of travel available. I then put my foot behind the pedal and pulled it up to the normal position. The clutch then worked fine for the rest of the journey. Its not happened before.
Just one of those things or something to be concerned about?
Manual porsches have a safety feature that if the clutch is overheating for some reason (e.g. dropping the clutch at 4k rpm) then the clutch pedal will go to the floor and stay there until the car decides the temperature of the clutch is ok again (or something like that). This happened to my brother on Monday will test driving a spyder at PEC Silverstone. The Porsche guy in the passenger seat didn't seem too concerned!

I believe it just sharpened up the throttle response. You can have the "sport" button retrofitted without the need for sport chrono (from memory).

My 987 Spyder (manual without chrono), didn't strike me as being lacking in any way in terms of throttle response.

Sold my manual Spyder a few years ago to buy the Aqua Blue PDK in the pic. Let it go at £33K for a 5k mile car. It was perfect! Must have been crazy to sell it at that price.

A nice spec car in an understated colour combo just popped up with MP:

Appears reasonably priced, too (for MP!).

The car looks fantastic. Its amazing how someone who really knows how to take a picture of the car can really show off its best angles. Also they have made a great job of polishing it as well. clap

Going to a wedding in France in October. I need to take Portsmouth ferry either to Caen or Cherbourg. Haven't decided if I will Take the Spyder or the Touareg. Did you go by ferry.? If so was loading / unloading OK in the Spyder.

I took the train.

I didn't have many issues with ride height. The French have discovered the Speed hump and ultra low speed limits (30KMH), which are in the centre of a lot of towns now.

If you do take the Spyder be prepared to attract some attention!

Thanks for that. Going down there for a week and will have to fit in Mrs wdpor's wedding hat and my kilt. I have noticed the kilt blows up at high speeds with the roof down. Don't want the French shouting "Croque Monsieur" all over the country as I drive past. biggrin

Just received a driver manual supplement in the post "engaging convertible top fins!". Not had a problem with mine (touch wood!).
