Agree with adding manifolds before the exhaust. They are a major restriction if you look at their design. Another plus point is the engine will Rev way more freely.
Indeed. The 987 has 2 sets of cats, one in the manifolds and one in the silencer section at the back. Removing one of these will help make for a crisper sound. The Carnewal GT exhaust removes the secondaries amongst other things, and when I had this done to my 987S and the results were fantastic (much more popping on the overrun).

the 987.2 cars have all 4 cats in the manifolds ;-) the Carnewal mod removed just a bit of wadding on the gen 2's.The Carnewal GT exhaust removes the secondaries amongst other things, and when I had this done to my 987S and the results were fantastic (much more popping on the overrun).

Lovely looking cars, just a shame there weren't more available.
There does seem like quite a few for sale on Pistonheads (17 currently from circa £75k to 88k).
Be interesting to see if prices to drop off into the Autumn.
Bloody shame that , I thought the Spyder had mostly missed the flipper - I wouldn't sell mine for anything - they are such great cars There does seem like quite a few for sale on Pistonheads (17 currently from circa £75k to 88k).

I have been enjoying mine 987.2 the last few days, it's a great fun little car that seems to sing the harder you drive it.
Thought they were quite rare but saw another one that looked the same from a distance (white with the right wheels) on the way home tonight. So if it was you coming off the M42 at junction 9, then Hi from me.
Enjoy the weather one and all, I am off to California tomorrow driving the coast road from SF to LA taking in the car weekend in Monterey, I will miss the Spyder being four up in a
Chrysler... Yum.

I saw a 987 spyder in Hastings 3 Sundays ago, 10 plate in white , silver rims , anyone on here?
My spyder is just under 1000 miles now , and its just the coolest thing! So much attention , and all positive . Nothing new compared at that price point.i would swap it for a new Targa 991 perhaps...

Thanks for pointing that out. My car wasn't a Spyder, but a gem 1 987. I suppose sports cata in the manifold makes sense as you say.... (For gen II / Spyders)Edited by Porsche911R on Tuesday 16th August 16:36
