I'm interested to hear feedback on the new bucket seats. On older cars the fixed Carrera GT buckets are narrower than the GT2 buckets. However, whilst I've not done a side-by-side test, the 918 buckets in the cars at Geneva seemed wider than the GT2 seats. Given they're electrically height adjustable they could well weigh more the=an GT2 buckets too.
Look at the 918 site and you will see they come in two widths - not clear whether mere 981 owners have that choice.Well .... The so called halo cars are not supplied to order
GT3
GTRS
GT4
Spyder
All cars with hugely restricted supply
I tried Aberdeen on Friday and despite being one of the top dealers they are getting 1 car and have 5 letters of intent
So it's what you know it's who you know as dealers can choose who gets cars
I tried to get on the list at an OPC for the Gen2 GTRS and was declined as I did not live nearby
The new selection process has arrived !

Similar situation here in Switzerland, my dealer let me know that they will only get one Spyder this year (they got three GT4s). His explanation is that most of the cars were allocated to the USA (California in particular) for obvious reasons. The old Spyder didn't sell at all over here.GT3

Specced the new Spyder today...
- Rhodium
- Leather Interior / Silver Stitching
- Bucket Seats (but still confusion as to whether we can spec the 918 Buckets!)
- Sports Tailpipe
- CDR Audio

Looks like September but they don't know yet...

I'm almost there:
Rhodium/Carrara White metallic (can't decide)
Platinum wheels
Leather with yellow stitch or silver (can't decide)
Door opening loops same colour as stitching
Buckets,heated
PCM/Bose/Phone/DAB
Freebies:
Manual AC
64L fuel tank
Wind deflector
Passenger side stowage net
Smoking package
Nice too. What's the smoking package - do you get a free pipe to go with your heated seats and stowage net?

What's the thought process behind speccing CDR without PCM in 2015?- Rhodium

It costs £2,000+ and I will never use it and hope never to sell the car so resale not an issue. Do you think people want it?
I would only spec CDR plus with Bose maybe. You get the screen so the dash looks modern and there isn't the ridiculous cost just for sat nav, which a portable gar in unit will do much better for a fraction of the cost.EricE said:

It also wouldn't cost a fortune to update the nav.
Not bothered about being tied into the chrono package which is a waste of time also.

The way I see it PCM has no downsides compared to the CDR except for cost and £2,000 is not that much in the grand scheme of things. If the CDR is now the same hardware/software as the PCM minus the navigation function then I understand it. EricE said:

The CDR in the 987 looked dated and cheap which is why radio delete or PCM are the only options I am interested in.
If mine comes in time, I am planning to drive it to Crete this year, so the £2,000 will come in handy for fuel (especially given that I will keep getting lost!).
