Boxster Spyder

I think this is correct. There's no logic to the current situation - but they will need to stick to the decision and not offer them later otherwise we will have this 'two-tier' snobbery over whether yours has the GT2 or the 918 seat (which in itself is a first world problem if one ever existed).

due too 918 style supply issue, I bet they have canned them on the 981 spyder in the UK now.
AT least you get free GT2 style buckets, we have to pay for buckets in a GT4 track car !!!

I prefer the GT2 seat
What's up with the 918 seats then, I had assumed we'd all want them

I find 918 seats unnecessarily fussy in design.
also I know the GT2 seats will be fine as I have them in my GT3.
Not sat in a 918 seat and don't want to take the risk of not liking it.
apparently, it is wider and more upright than the GT seat
Thanks for that, I too have the GT2 seats in my Spyder and really like them but assumed that the 918 would be unquestionably better, need to find a 918 to sit in.also I know the GT2 seats will be fine as I have them in my GT3.

Might not bother then and avoid the delay.

And of course you can heat the GT2s
Do you know by chance whether this is an easy retrofit for these seats with proper porsche parts (done through an OPC, rather than 3rd party items)Other Spyder owners done this (costs)?
It wasn't an option previously.
the seat cushion on my GT3 buckets can simply be peeled off ..

Despite being a very contented current owner of a beautiful 987 Spyder, I am still pretty impressed by the new model... So much so that I found myself putting a deposit down at the local OPC on launch day....!!! To me it seems the "ultimate package": the larger engine that the Boxster chassis has always cried out for, a more practical roof (than the 987 Spyder), better brakes, more aggressive front/ rear styling.... However, as noted in the "Spyder GT4" thread, I have concerns that, no sooner will I have got my grubby mitts on this new incarnation of the Spyder, Porsche will release a more extreme "GT" version....!!! I presume this would essentially be a GT4 with a soft top, for roughly GT4 money..... That would be pretty gutting..!! It would also do Porsche no favours in retaining the mystique/rarity of it's "halo" cars, as it would suggest that they were simply "milking" their newest creation. I truly hope that this is not the case, as cynical marketing-tactics was something I thought "beneath" a prestige brand such as Porsche. However, I may sit-on my deposit for a little while yet, just to see what news comes out of Stuttgart....Dave
