I went to the OPC today to look at all the colours and Rhodium with Satin wheels looks very nice. Although I'm really tempted by GT Silver with Classic Interior, but have not seen one in the flesh yet...

PS - can't see the 918 seats on configurator? How much are they?

They show as no cost option on Opc config, but when selected it won't let some options be added until you de select.

Not sure if the classic interior looks a bit fussy but in the flesh could look great

I mentioned the 918 seat issue a while ago regarding appearing on the OPC configurator.
They called up "vehicle planning" at Reading whilst I was there to sort, but still seemed ambiguous.

Sounds like it hasn't changed - when selected it wouldn't even let you add the wind deflector!

As for classic interior I've had same combo on a 360 Modena and didn't like it much.
Last Boxster Spyder I had was black with red interior, tried to live with it but sold it as I couldn't stand it.
Must admit GT Silver with classic interior does look good, but not for me because of prior experience.

When I went to OPC a few weeks ago the 918 seats were not showing at all?

Agree that red interior could look fussy, but does look great in the 'one' picture on the web site.

Still not heard from anyone who's actually driven the car either!

Snap I was going up same avenue too as I can't bring myself to pay £1600 for GT Silver when you can have Rhodium for nearly £1100 lessfrown but have to admit subject to seeing catalogue example in the flesh I could be persuaded to part with the big buck$ and go for the GT /Classic Sport lookcool

I can't see the point in PCM and phones for me, 95% of the time the roof will be off and I'll be soaking up that exhaust note !
I'll probably opt in basic air con and radio and save the money.

I'm also considering keeping my 05 BS for the Tesco run !

Do you think re sale value will suffer with no PCM .??

My spec includes PCM, Bose and phone. My previous Spyder had sound package plus and no PCM. Really notice the difference having them in my 981 S and don't want to not have them in my new Spyder. I'm keeping this one for a while so I'm adding everything I want this time.

Picked the spec on 3rd of April and haven't changed it since, although I'm considering deleting the painted side vents on my Carrara White Spyder.

Hi
I've been lurking on the forum for some time but wanted to join in this thread.
I've spec'd my spyder in Rhodium Silver with black wheels. It looked good on the configurator plus I've seen a number of other Porsches in similar colours. Like the last poster I've currently got a 981S so have added into the spec similar things as I currently enjoy. I'm buying the car for me, and therefore spec'd the car as I want. Its definitely going to be a keeper! ( I'm lucky enough to have a daily driver too)
Really interested when we, the UK buyers, start to get build dates!

Phone connectivity is a must have IMO but pcm complete waste of time for me personally even though I have it on the current Spyder never been used once in anger to date

Dealer says cars without could well be harder to sell on but I doubt they will be worth £2100 less than those with. It's a hard call when so many cars today have Nav for circa £700 eek

More annoying IMO is no rear park assist sensors mad

Agree about the parking sensors !

Although I did have a full on "muppet moment" when reversing in my BS.
I was to busy listening to the GT exhaust note to notice the bleeps from the sensors going off at a fair old rate.......
Luckily managed to source a new rear light cluster cheap on EBay rolleyesrolleyes

Does this mean most will be fitting the rear camera, due to the assumed poor rear visibility ??

Rear camera is a must have. Visibility in the old model Spyder roof up was poor and I don't expect it to be any better in the new model. Not sure of the weight penalty for adding the rear camera but no doubt someone will post that I'll be 0.5 of a second slower per lap.

I've heard nothing about build dates apart from being told mine will be the only one delivered to my OPC this year.

Likewise, no news on build date.
Mine is also the only car heading for my local OPC.

I feel when they do arrive they will be a rare sight !

+1.

So much for the 150 cars incorrectly stated. More like 50 to 75.

My dealer is getting "FOUR" cars July build, Sept, October & mine the December build which I am trying to get pushed back to March 2016 so far with no joy frown - So 150 cars spread over 2015/2016 build dates should be doable

Daro its interesting your OPC has build dates but, it seems, few others have. My OPC has two cars but still no dates. I must admit I assumed most of our cars would be made when the factory returns from its August break
