Boxster Spyder
Discussion
Having been convinced about GT Silver I've now decided to go for Guards with black leather / alcantara with red stitching, buckets and leather trim around the dash and centre console rather than painted. I've got an October build slot, my OPC's first of 3. I was told there'd be an opportunity for those with confirmed build slots to see the car in the summer, most likely at the experience centre at Silverstone in late August or thereabouts. Has anyone heard anything more definite?

I'm looking at almost the same spec as your White option. Looks great in a Classic Spyder kind of way....
I see you've gone smooth leather on the steering wheel, are you not keen on the alcantara ??
I test drove a 911 GTS last week and I was not sure about the feel of the alcantara wheel
Changing the steering wheel to leather was a recommendation from Daro911 as alcantara can get quite worn/dirty. I flit between the options though!I see you've gone smooth leather on the steering wheel, are you not keen on the alcantara ??

Yesterday I was set on GT Silver, today I'm thinking carrera white again! The spyder interior drew me to GT silver (I don't see it working with anything other than that or black really, and I can't do black as it's too hard to keep clean regularly).
The colour choice is very frustrating - I'd love voodoo blue or something a bit more extreme (but not yellow).

I've heard the same as you, but not a date. I've been told if it's not in time for my spec lock in date then I'll get to try a GTS at least. This is good enough for me as I've not driven a 981 yet.Beaver said:
Some German dude said this on another forum:
Hallo to everyone from Germany.
Couldn't resist to drop a line.
Please excuse if my english isn't perfect.
I ordered a Spyder here in Germany with a slot for September this year.
The first Spyders will be arriving at Porsche Exklusive Showroom beginning of July.
There're currently NO Spyders at any showroom in Germany.
NONE, Zilch, ZIP............ NADA
The car simply won't be available at any dealership, cause all slots for Germany are sold. Yep, you got it right - SOLD OUT.
There's a similar Porsche Forum in Germany where Spyder Owners/Buyers exchange infos. In our opinion the total qty. of Spyders for Germany is less than 240 !!! - and an estimated 550 worldwide. If you got an allocation - you're lucky.
The pictures you've been seeing here from Spyders, running on German roads were partially taken by members of the Forum and posted there.
There are currently 3 cars running on German streets as "Press-Cars" for Press presentations. There won't be any serial production car available anywhere to be seen before July.
The ones of you who got a July slot, will be served with Spyders around the same time as here in Germany.
@ all Owners - Congratulations on buying the Spyder
These figures only make sense if they are for 5 months total production run in 2015Hallo to everyone from Germany.

If the build continues in January 2016 up to 981.2 Flat 4 Turbo era kicks off then they could double which would make more sense production number wise than just 550!
