Boxster & Cayman Picture Thread

I sure did! They are actually different, again, as the car has a 3rd set of tips as I replaced the split rear backboxes with an aftermarket system.
It wasn’t difficult, it just involved a lot of heat the first time (from single exit to twin as seen in pics). Used a blowtorch, warmed for a good few minutes, carefully, and used a breaker bar.
eBay is where I got the double exit, it’s actually off a cayman - a kind fellow rear ended me, and the repairing garage took the p^$$ and replaced the bumper, all heat shields and exhaust tips, all at 3rd party insurances cost, so I have a virtually new Boxster dual tip available...

This is my relatively recent purchase. I had a 987 five years ago, sold it to scratch the 911 itch, missed it so much I decided this year to get another one. I still have the 911 but it hardly gets driven now. The Boxster is much much more fun. This is the car after I spent a week giving it a full paint correction.
Good Job…….looks amazing!CJM36 said:

Thanks for the info. I would be interested in your available Boxster dual tip.It wasn’t difficult, it just involved a lot of heat the first time (from single exit to twin as seen in pics). Used a blowtorch, warmed for a good few minutes, carefully, and used a breaker bar.

There really are some great pictures on here, beautiful cars.
It’s funny moving onto a Porsche after having TVR’s for years.
The TVR forum is always, (apart from now the quiet Christmas period) full of people doing engine mods, engine swaps for bigger engines, body off, chassis upgrades, brake upgrades you name it, it’s there.
The complete opposite to the Porsche forum, I do miss it!

Done many happy miles across Europe in mine..I sold the car a few years back and knew I'd made a mistake, got very very lucky and was able to buy it back a year later after spotting it by chance in a poorly written advert but with only a few hundred miles added since I sold it,now the one car I'll never sell.

Although sometimes a pain in the arse, I do miss always having something “to do” on the car and planning the next round of improvements. The US Porsche forums are much more interesting in this respect.
Very different ownership expectations and prospects though.
Porsche’s are a more complete item, there is no doubt. I love my Boxster for roadwork and for track work. Apart from fitting track pads and a more applicable oil for tracks, I haven’t had to do anything else. I love a fiddle in the garage and do miss TVR‘s for that very reason.
Luckily, I have a track day Octy vRS. I have been modifying that steadily over the last year from performance, handling and braking. I really enjoy the modifying in the garage but I still get the best feeling on track with the Porsche. Even so, I still really enjoy track days with the Skoda considering all the modifications it has so far cost me little more than £3.5K, makes it a really cheap enjoyable alternative.
