Porsche makes £13k per car sold if you look at total profit vs car sales so they say.
A lot of that money coming in must be servicing costs.

but the books look OK in the Porsche camp it seems.

I can't believe that the 911 costs much more to build than a Cayman.

If correct, would that make the Cayman better value ?

I think that one of the best things about Porsche is that their entry level cars are so exceptionally good --- and no problems reported yet with the gen II engines smile

Can anyone tell me from this photograph if this Cayman R has air conditioning please?

Thanks.

No AC. The blank button next to the recirculation button would have a snow flake on it when AC was specced.

this 100% I don't get every one swooning over the new Cayman, it's way to 911 now.

987.2 is a great looking sports car.

Once the 987.2 gets oldish (say in about 5 years), I expect the R to hold its value very well compared to 2.7 and S versions. It is inherently more "special" and likely to maintain a bit of a following.

already holds it's value and has a massive following.

more R's than GT3 on track days I go to and the R keeps getting fastest laps at the Porsche club GB sprint champs. over cars with 100bhp more.
It's the perfect sports car for road use which can take a track day no problem.

Very under rated car even though it won drivers car of the year at launch and people slagged it for not being a GT3!!!
which imo is a good job, a GT3 Cayman would ruin it for the road.

No new Porsche steers as well, and in manual form you can have your cake and eat it with this car.

one word "stunning"

I'd have a Cayman R over the 981, I think it looks just about perfect. The 981 is nice looking but has lost some of the 987's character, much like the new Cayenne compared to the original, the new designs are 'safer'.

I was following a white Cayman R on the M3 on Saturday morning, anyone on here notice a GT2 behind you? The Cayman looked awesome, really made me miss my old cars frown

in the UK about 230/250 odd but never more than a few for sale at 1 time, never see a 2nd hand red one as an example.
And only 4 black Manual cars for sale at the OPC, Black seems a very bad seller.

Mrdemon interesting what you say about black. I was advised against buying a white Cayman as the colour has been very popular over all car manufacturers, over supply etc. The black CR looks mean although I do like the look of the white CRs (at the moment!). Time will tell I guess.

I take it they did not have any white cars for sale lol.

White looks great on the R.

some cars imo look wrong in white

Astons, Ferrari, Merc's all don't look great in white imo.

Audi and Porsche always look great in white.

It was a little independent dealer that said that to me and I wasn't actually looking to buy at the time. They just mentioned that the white Cayman etc were difficult to sell relative to red, black. Perhaps they were just unlucky with previous sales.

I think the only colour I don't like is the green! I wouldn't go for the red either but I think it still looks good with black wheels!
