Only you know what you want but personally I would not be without PASM and PDLS.

Have you driven a sports chassis car ?

I have not , very hard to find one, but if it's any thing like the R it will be awesome .

Would love to try one with sports chassis.
I would def add heated seats, very cheap option and great for resale, seems daft not to spec it at the cost.
With a very sporty set up though you may as well go bucket seats :-)

I cannot find a Sport Chassis anywhere! Cayman R/my old 997 are both accpectable for an occasional car, and I like the lower look.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the following:

PTV with LSD - Just not needed, you won't notice the car not having it.
Sports chassis 20mm lower - too harsh for our roads

Amazing cars!

Yes I've driven the sports chassis. Stiffer that a Cayman R. I found it detrimental to everyday blasts on back roads.

i would get (in that order):

PCCB
sport design wheel in alcantara
buckets
PDLS
sports chassis
PTV
sport chrono
sports exhaust
painted wheels in black (19 inches)
PTS - mint green
Not going to add it up , but that must be over 70k , could you really do that ?
With that spec you would have to wait for the GTS. Car due out.
given what i prefer. absolutely.

But the GTS may be out and I'd rather get that...
then again, I'll prolly wait for the next R.

We could do with the R sooner rather than later.

was that with 20" or 19" wheels?

I reckon Sports Chassis with 19" wheels would be fine.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I've added PDLS to the spec after everyone's comments. Have the adapative lights on my everyday Merc and they are excellent, so hope these are as good. Have stuck with the sport chassis, so hope it's not too uncomfortable!!

Here's to a painful couple of months of waiting! ;-)

PDLS does not have high beam assist.

I did wonder, will be grateful for the brighter lights however. It's a surprisingly handy feature on the Merc, works brilliantly!

Any further comments on the Cayman LSD? I have read up about it and am persuaded that it is almost useless on track and wears out extremely quickly if used in that way.

BUT, given that I am not going to track my car, is it worth seeing whether it can be retrofitted? Is it noticeable on tight, low speed corners in the wet(the only ocassions that I find the back end a bit squirmier than I might have expected)?

I speced sports chrono on my 987 cayman s manual and found it a total waste of money. I quite like the look of the 'barnacle' stopwatch on the dash top, but otherwise a waste of money. Do you need to spec it to be allowed the PTV?

I haven't driven a PTV/LSD Cayman, but for 2ps worth is that LSD for road use is pretty unnecessary, apart from the increased ability for donuts, flip turns and roundabout hooning. I'll leave it up to you to value how important that is (vital in my caterham, but less so in a porker IMHO).

Good effort on ordering a manual rather than PDK!! Gives a good spare few grand to spend on other bits.

.
Have it on my Cayman R and much prefer the throttle response and slightly wider PSM envelope in
'Sport'

On 981 additionally it comes with dynamic transmission mounts plus get throttle blip
in 'sport plus' mode on the manual. You dont need it to have PTV but you do have to spec PASM
or sport chassis to have PTV

Seems strange no mainstream reviews (two all too brief Boxster reports in Evo/Autocar excepted) on the X73 option on the Cayman nor any vehicles available to demo it but I assume on 19s very similar to the R - no reported issues with Eurotunnel clearance by R/Spyder owners...?

(Alternatively possibly take a vanilla chassis setup and upgrade dampers if not sporting enough but then you can't order PTV so I suppose you can always order it and fit adjustable dampers/different springs if it's too hard!)

My brother-in-law's father-in-law, (if that makes any sense) has the sports set-up on his new 981 S, with 20" rims and loves it. I've not had a go myself I'm afraid, but there you go - some limited feedback. He was comning from an FQ360 Evo if that gives any sense of perspective.
