Any updates/feedback on the Sports chassis option yet?
My brother-in-law's father-in-law, (if that makes any sense) has the sports set-up on his new 981 S, with 20" rims and loves it. I've not had a go myself I'm afraid, but there you go - some limited feedback. He was comning from an FQ360 Evo if that gives any sense of perspective.

Sports Chrono is a total waste on a manual car. I exactly used the "sharper" throttle setting once on my old 997.1. The clock is horrible IMHO and nobody in his right mind would use it to time laps on track.

depends what you like, I like the way PSM gives you a 10% slip angle and don't cut it at every issue
the throttle map is also far better.

I would not be with out it, but as you say the clock timer is daft.

I drive 100% in sports mode.

I hope not too - I want the 981 off him in a few years once he's taken the depreciation hit - it's a perfect b-road spec, except, arguably, the 20" rims - I'd only want 19s myself. (he's got sports chassis, 20" rims, sport chrono and Spanish gearbox with not much else - and after I saw him over Xmas is investigating get a SSK for the gearbox).

My car is on the boat on the way from germany so I hope to be able to report on the sports chassis soon.

I had no luck finding any info on it, but specced it on previous experience with other models. Fingers crossed it was the right choice.

Well it's here!

I have to say I am chuffed to bits with the stance with Sports Chassis. Looks very low and purposeful...

Can't wait till the 1st now!

Lovely. Does look low in a "getting onto Eurotunnel at an angled approach" way but looks good. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the ride on typical b roads.

Right, well I did 100 miles or so yesterday so impressions are brief but fair to say I am over the moon with the car and the spec. One of the things I am most happy with is the sports chassis.

The ride is firm but it is hugely better damped and less crashy than my old 997 with sports chassis. There is a bit of compliance with a sure footed planted firm feel which is what I want from an occasional sports car.

In my eyes it drastically improves the stance and everyone comments on that. Clearly I'm biased but it looks fantastic.

And another thing! The PSE is quite lairy! Much louder than my old 997, and noise is brilliant inside. It pops and bangs on the over run like crazy! Love it!

Overall I am delighted and I can't say enough about the service at Porsche Portsmouth. They have been great!

If anyone wants to know more, just say......

Cheers

Nick
