Lightest Cayman S
Discussion
OP just keep the S1 Honda. A Cayman is never going to be anything like a Lotus. If you have a good Honda S1 you'll regret letting it go for something a lot heavier.
I have a Cayman S daily complete with LSD and PCCBs but it will never go near a track as I have a couple of Lotus cars that are just better suited to the task. With no effort at all you could have a 700kg 350BHP S1 Honda that would destroy just about any Porsche on track. Even an NA S2 Honda is quicker than a Cayman S or R.
The Cayman is a truly brilliant all rounder but anyone using one on track that hasnt had a Lotus or similar car should really try it. Best case scenario you are hauling 400kgs round that you simply dont need.
Upcoming ring trip.... The Cayman is going because its much better suited to a long road drive and quick scoot up a little private road.

Not entirely relevant - but some useful info here http://www.caranddriver.com/flipbook/porsche-911-g...
If you go through the pics it gives the weight savings of removing/changing various bits on a GT3/RS, some of which might apply to Caymans too.

That is one crazy 986 but fair play to you for doing it. What was the spec of that?
It was fairly tame on power. Base 1999 Boxster, 2.5 liter with larger throttle body and headers, 6 speed S transmission, all GT3 suspension and KW coilovers. New owner has put a built 2.7 that makes about 250 HP in the car. Its a national level autocross/Slalom car in US now.grantsfo said:

I have aluminium doors, and made 1.00mm thick door cards and then had them flocked. Inner door handles off a 1980's VW Bus!!!
The car is away at the race shop as I am not racing it for a month. When it gets back I'll take some photos of the interior.
Sorry, been very busy and forgot about your request! The car is away at the race shop as I am not racing it for a month. When it gets back I'll take some photos of the interior.
If I go to smaller wheels and tires than 18x11 with 335/30/18 DOT R in favor of 16x10 with slicks and go for CF roof, fenders and rear quarters I'd get this car to 1000 kg no problem. For steel chassis car the cayman is very efficient once you get all crap off the car
With 350 HP 3.4 liter 6 cylinder my car is becoming very quick!
