No problem. I'm on Carrera Ss and it's good to see that my sales guy was correct about the weights.

I'm not surprised about the Techno Sports - they look heavy to my eyes.

Got some more stuff from Planet 9 with tyre weights. Significant savings to be made.

Yes, there are other threads, but they're quite old and are specific to the Type 987. Rather than being a necromancer, I decided to dig up the info.

Big thanks to David Martin at Wheel Enhancement. He does not, however, have the weight of the Sport Techno 2s. If someone has this information, it'd be greatly appreciated. I also do not have information for the 18-inch wheels available because I didn't ask for it.

Boxster S III (2013 Boxster S, 2014 Boxster S)

19 x 8.0 - 22 lbs. 8 oz.
19 x 9.5 - 25 lbs. 5 oz.

Cayman S III (2014 Cayman S)

19 x 8.0 - 24 lbs. 6 oz.
19 x 9.5 - 26 lbs. 10 oz.

Carrera S III

20 x 8.0 - 22 lbs. 7 oz.
20 x 9.5 - 24 lbs. 15 oz.

Carrera Classic II

20 x 8.0 - 23 lbs. 8 oz.
20 x 9.5 - 25 lbs. 4 oz.

If you want to stick to a 19" wheel (better tire selection), you can't argue the Boxster S III. However, if you want the lightest wheel/tire fitment possible, the Carrera S III will ultimately save you at least 1 lb per wheel (due to the lighter tire), and around 1.5 lb per rear wheel.

Oh, but how much will tires weigh? Don't worry, I've got some of that too. I have the most accurate numbers I can get. Michelin gets it down to tenths of a pound, whereas TireRack only posts to the nearest pound. I'll see what I can do on getting more accurate numbers. I've included Michelin Pilot Super Sports despite the fact that they aren't N-Spec, simply because they're ridiculously good.

Pirelli PZero (N0, OEM)

235/40ZR19/XL 92 (Y) - 23.? lbs.
265/40ZR19/XL 98 (Y) - 28.? lbs.
235/35ZR20/XL 88 (Y) - 22.? lbs.
265/35ZR20/XL 95 (Y) - 28.? lbs.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 (N0, OEM)

235/40ZR19/XL 92 (Y) - 22.? lbs.
265/40ZR19/XL 98 (Y) - 25.? lbs.

Bridgestone Potenza S001 (N0)

235/35ZR20/XL 88 (Y) - 24.? lbs.
265/35ZR20/XL 95 (Y) - 28.? lbs.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport (NOT N-Spec)

235/40ZR19/XL 96 (Y) - 23.4 lbs.
265/40ZR19/XL 102 (Y) - 25.0 lbs.
235/35ZR20/XL 92 (Y) - 22.4 lbs.
265/35ZR20/XL 99 (Y) - 24.9 lbs.

Picked him up this morning - very excited - drives great! Love the colour and I think the wheels look awesome - although I recognise Turbos aren't everyone's cup of tea! Right off out again - it's off to be detailed on Friday so will look even better after that!

Nice car but what makes this worth over list, I know it's a good colour but how can a mass produced car be worth overs once second hand, or are they just chancing their arm on someone not being able to afford a GT4 and buying this instead?

I think with the cost of PTS that wouldn't be over list - I don't disagree it's expensive though.
That is the best colour by far for me!!

No thanks to my dealer I have found my VIN and tracked it down as being on a vessel due in to Australia on 29/5/16. Then probably a 3 week turn around.

At least I can follow the excitement tracking the vessel online...

Also just to add I had no problems speccing folding buckets. However I will say the car appears to have been a month or so delayed in the build compared to others that came off the line at the same time when I compared commission numbers, and the US forums are also suggesting that there was a month delay for some of their production

Picked mine up yesterday between the sleet/rain/hail/snow storms!

Time to go out for another drive I think...

Thanks!

PDK was never an option I considered, not my thing at all. I wanted old(er) school with modern creature comforts, plus a little bit of racer, and I think I've got it. It's an awesome road car.

It would be if it wasn't in the wrong colour. You clearly picked the slowest one...

:-)

Enjoy the car. I wish I could relive the pick up day every day!

Are you using Russell by any chance? Think I'm going to use him for mine (when it finally arrives) so be interested in what you think if it is yours he is doing

Yes, using Russell. Does an excellent job and would definitely recommend! He did my previous CGTS as well. Pick biue one up from him on Saturday - can't wait to see what it's like once he has done it - it will be special.

Will there be a 718 Cayman GTS in a couple of years time ? ... or perhaps sooner .

And with what power train ?

Any thoughts out there !
