I managed to obtain a £3K discount but this was on a highly specced Boxster GTS.
Cash or with finance?

How was that achieved? Trade in price? Options? Or a combination of both? Where did you order from in the end? A mate of mine is about to spec his (on Tuesday). From Colchester OPC.

Cheers......
I didn't have a trade in, but I did put down a large deposit. I approached 2 dealers (OPC Colchester and OPC East London) and was also given a referral to another dealer (OPC Bournemouth). After spending most of the day the OPC East London, I came up with my final spec which I then sent to OPC Colchester & OPC Bournemouth and just said who gives me the best deal gets my deposit 7 days later. Colchester offered me 2K off the car, which when considering my car is quite highly spec'ed (71K) isn't that great and the finance was a really rubbish offer. OPC East London just gave me base figures but said they would beat any deal, but I had no figures, this was still better than OPC Colchester.

What won me over was OPC Bournemouth, they really made me an offer I couldn't say no to. They offered to put me in a hotel for the night, collect me first thing in the morning, go over the specs of the car and ensure everything was what I wanted then gave me the car for the rest of the day to drive about in. In terms of the finance side of things they offered me a deal that was at least £100 / 200 PM better than anywhere else.

In summary, I have been really happy with what I have been offered and glad really that I shopped about and I big thank you to Lee for the referral. smile

If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a PM.

Ross mine was a cash sale.

Try a number of OPC dealers my local one was completely uninterested when I asked for a discount even though I had the specification with me that was over £70K all they offered was free GAP insurance and must take Porsche finance.

Next not so local dealer greeted me with open arms; asked for my specification and called back the next day with a £3k discount they got the order.

The sales guy now works at my local OPC so hopefully they may learn from him on how to keep punters happy.

Just read the bits about clearance, I took my GTS across to Guernsey, no problem getting on or off the ferry but some of the roads over there I did bottom out a few times but only minor scratches underneath.

Question: did your OPC include the road tax in the total on the road price (i.e. £485 for a PDK car, 190g/km CO2)?

Picked up my baby (Cayman GTS) today. Sorry about the quality of the photos, but the weather is terrible. Doesn't stop her sounding incredible though smile

Congratulations for this beauty !

Can somebody explain to me why the Boxster GTS is cheaper than the Cayman GTS ?
I know the Cayman developps 10 bhp more (besides, why ?) but I don't think this is the unique reason.
Yes of course it is for marketing reason but I don't understand why the Cayman should be more expensive.

I have to say I love more and more the Boxster. The only "problem" with the Cayman is the lack of sunroof, it would have been great.
Plus, the electric hood opens itself in only 9 seconds, that's cool !
