Could not agree more about the shape of the Cayman, there's something not quite resolved with its rear roofline. I love the broad hips but to me the Boxster looks more appealing and masculine with its roof up. I also never figured out why the Cayman is more expensive that it's roadster brother when every other marque charges a premium for going roofless.
Because the Cayman is a better car, simple.....koorby said:

I agree on both counts, hence I bought the Boxster. Mainly I just could not get happy with the rear of the new Cayman when compared to my former Cayman R. Budweiser said:

Not trying to start an argument; i'm in no ways loyal or biased towards the Boxster. It's just that, unless the car lives outside, i fail to see why you'd pay more for the Cayman. Is it because it's more blokey?

Interested to hear why? Had the Boxster (both old and new) but have never driven a Cayman. However, coming from a 911 (coupe) there are times you miss the wind in your hair and also the exhaust is quite a bit louder with the roof down.

my main reasons for choosing the Cayman over the Boxster
1. Drove a Boxster S for 2 weeks. Weather was lovely so put the roof down - wife immediately complained and insisted I put it back up. To be honest, I didn't like it either
2. Visibility when reversing in the Boxster is not as good as the Cayman. Roof up or down, I never felt safe parking it
As to why the Cayman costs more? Probably because they gave it more power

A disappointing phone call today, to say my car had been due on a boat last Friday and be ready for me to pick up this Saturday but that it was still at the port in Germany!
They are going to chase through tomorrow but another weeks wait looks likely.

Mine hasn't turned up yet either, supposed to have left the factory on the 1stThey are going to chase through tomorrow but another weeks wait looks likely.

Frustrating to not know. Almost anything else you buy on-line can be tracked

Mines not arriving till April/May
Dear SarnieI think your delivery date was by choice? That said, still a long wait
I was sold an August build slot which I was pressured into putting a deposit on, and it turned out to be an October slot in the end. They blame the Porsche factory. I am stil not convinced that I haven't been scammed by the OPC.

Kind of yeah. I didn't really want to be taking delivery of the car in the depths of winter, considering it's gonna be a third/Sunday car, so thought I'd get it delivered for the '15 registrations in March. But I've further complicated matters by ordering it in Exclusive paint which adds 12 weeks to your build time, apparently!I think your delivery date was by choice? That said, still a long wait

My view that the Cayman is the better car is purely my opinion which I am entitled to post so what is your problem exactly? I see you drive a BS so that might explain your defensive remark.
Both class leading cars but the Cayman edges it for me....
Porsche also claim the Cayman is the better car, it also spends more time at the end of the build to hone in the handling to out do a Boxter (So they say)Both class leading cars but the Cayman edges it for me....

Solihull were supposed to be having a GTS on demo and were going to let me borrow it for a couple of days but it never appeared/I never got a phone call
They definitely don't have a demo, I had to have a Cayman S for the day instead, there was no mention of one coming in either.....Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
