From 997GTS to 981GTS? I'm making the same move.
Whats the verdict then?
I was a bit apprehensive at first as I had never seen the Cayman GTS in the flesh.
The 997 GTS I loved and still do .
I was gobsmacked when I first saw it, pictures do not do it justice.
The sound is incredible, takes some getting used to inside, power is different, no where near as fast as 997, though the thrill and fun driving it is great. It handles fantastically, and I am pleasantly surprised as to how good the brakes stop the car.
The steering is fine, having heard all comments on the electric steering, it is still good though not as good on the 997.
Early days yet
So far not disappointed.

While a Porsche Experience Silverstone consultant told me they are going to use MPSS because some partnership.
N rating bullst? Even warranty involved? Bullst
Care to elaborate? Everybody I've asked has told me that non-N-spec tires will affect warranty come renew time. N rating bullst? Even warranty involved? Bullst
As for Porsche not adhering to their own warranty rules... I'm not surprised.
First post. Have to say a huge thanks for all the tips, advice and pics on this thread, has been a huge help and great source of friendly info.
Picked mine up a week ago from Guildford OPC. Could not be more chuffed with it. Simply amazed at this car. Only 200 miles covered so far, but totally exceeding my expectations already, far more than anticipated. Porsche really knows how to make a car with feel and character.
First pic kindly sent by the dealer a couple of days before pickup (I was paranoid about the wording on the invoice and feared they'd deleted the Alcantara and painted 'all' the dials red! Thankfully all as ordered). The rest were taken during pickup, thought it only fair to contribute with some images myself.
GT Silver, GTS Interior (Carmine Red), PDK, Satin Wheels, PCM, DAB & Phone Prep (shameful these are not standard), Folding mirrors, Parking Camera icw f&r parking, Aluminium look fuel cap, smokers package (I don't smoke but prefer the look).

One of the best looking yet. Great choices! I would love for there to be a get together of all the different variations that have been chosen and shared on this site.
