sorry to derail the riveting chat about the footrests in our glorious new cars, but I FINALLY TOOK DELIVERY AT MY DEALERSHIP TODAY!!!!!!!

....and swiftly got REAR ENDED by a cyclist who decided they'd ride without brakes as I was pulling up at my house after collecting the car. Car going back Monday to the bodyshop. Spoiler, bumper and tailgate...

At least I've got the bad luck out of the way quickly right?
Aw no, I feel for you. What terrible luck
Presumably the cyclist has a few bruises for his lack of concentration

quick photo prior to mishap. Will have to wait until the bodyshop completes repairs to take proper pics with the DSLR!

PDK, x73, gts interior, folding this that and the other and all the electronic goodies. I'll post a full list once the shock has died down! Have a great weekend all and safe driving.

p.s it was a female cyclist. probably just a bruise, and she's quite apologetic and admitted full liability etc so hopefully we'll get a full and painless resolution as soon as possible. Poor old dear was crying for the best part of an hour.

Was going to say hope you gave the cyclist a pasting. Also, doubt you'll get a whiplash claim on that one... :-)

Gents, collected the car today, it fits me like a glove.
Just a little bit of paranoia, after every trip the outside smell of burnt oil or something like that. Normal? :/

Thanks for this reply, paranoia was still on, I've thought also new tyres but actually it would be strange, no burnouts today!
I can smell it from the rear wheel arch, nothing in the cabin. Exhaust looks fine, mild black smoke dust on tail pipes, smell good as it should be.

Any thoughs?

No words for the car, exhaust is fantastic when warmed up, again overall feel is that it fits like a glove, it's sharp and light.

Smell it's fine (glues, plastics...) but when it's like burnt oil it's a little bit scary.

Mine has one (Mar 2014) - but a thin aluminium surround with the bulk of the face in black plastic - as for the brake pedal.

Ah,welcome to the club. Had a Cayman R back-ended by a hill climb car in the first year of ownership. Was not pleased, you - sadly - have outdone me. Tough break!!!!

Strange, very pungent new smell from the engine area when outside the car, but can't recall burnt oil.. though I have to say I am not sure what that would smell like....

bd who rear ended mine would not admit liability; blamed the ferry company for not chocking his car. They blamed him for not applying the hand brake.... Took a year and a court summons to get his insurance to pay up...!!! furious

Xmas party with colleagues and CGTS used to drive in and out.
Was too nervous, but enjoyed a lot the trip. When back didn't realise sport mode was off, car was so fast and responsive, then pressed sport for last part of the trip and didn't manage to appreciate the differences.

I still feel the car wide, sometime I don't feel where I'am putting the wheels. Already used to buckets, once in they feel perfect, confortable.

God bless oil pressure and temperature indicators...you know when can push the engine without risks.
