Almost without exception every road test has come out dazzled by the brilliance of the Boxster & Cayman GTS. Ours will be our fifth Porsche and I am more excited about this one than any other and by a clear margin. The next five weeks are going to pass far too slowly!!
I share your pain, I have another 35 days till I collect mine. frown

Drove the Cayman GTS at the dealership yesterday £67K on the ticket ,the car is so quick and the sound from the exhaust was awesome if not a bit intrusive into the cabin area. I did try the Sport + button and it was all noise . It was the PDK and think this is the best option .I drive a Spyder manual but this is better for my style of driving put into drive and off you go in traffic it would be a god send.
Eagerly waiting to see how the new Spyder looks in the metal but not convinced by the photos seen so far RS Spyder looks nothing like the outgoing car which IMO is stunning

Yet another rave review, thanks for sharing - even if it doesn't make the next 40 days any easier for me!!

As many of you are probably too aware I have a Racing Yellow Boxster GTS biggrin

It seems that in the Chinese market there is the Porsche available option of having the bonnet and spoiler painted black (I don't know if this is an either or both option).

I actually like the idea of painting the spoiler black (not the bonnet) as I think the spoiler currently looks like an odd body part when down but would look better up/down painted black. Therefore I am contemplating having the spoiler painted to match the shiney GTS external pack black.

Thoughts before I commit please?

Personally I wouldn't - make the car look far too bling IMHO.

Not for me either, but then we have very different tastes in colour etc so my advice is, if you like it do it wink

I would try a black wrap on it and then if you do not like it you can take it off, might try black on my BGTS.......

Thanks for responses so far.

Good suggestion Shifty... someone else suggested this too but we are lacking a wrapper here in the islands... in the UK briefly in Feb so will see who I can find smile

This ^ or a carbon fibre wrap.

That said I don't usually like to see carbon fibre unless it actually is carbon fibre.

Can someone photoshop it in black? My feeling is that unless it's a fixed type spoiler, it will not look good as it's integrated into the body when down....but would be good to see that first.

I always thought the Cayman R in peridot green with the spoiler in black looked good but I appreciate it is all individual opinion.
You could try to get someone who is good with photoshop to play around with a couple of pics of the rear of your car with the spoiler up and down to try to get an idea.

Or if you want your neighbours to think you have lost it try wrapping a black bin bag around it, will look rubbish up close but would at least give some indication as to whether you like it in principle.getmecoat

Will have a bash later smile

My thought is that when down it will be a bit like an alternating layer, with black plate, yellow above, black spoiler, bit of yellow then model writing in black, then yellow trunk to black roof, or hoops if roof down. Black spoiler more impactful when up?

Are all caymans GTS built in Germany? I thought caymans were also built in usikaupunki in finland? I'm in the uk by the way

The car left on Monday - pdi should only take a day I'm still crossing everything I have for a fri delivery - esp if it's definitely coming from Germany!
