Grrr...Sainsbury's car park ding and run this morning, after a week away kinda took the shine off having a good blast today. My heart sank big-time when the announcement came out over the tannoy asking the owner of 'my reg' to see customer services, and then when they told me someone had hit my car and driven off!
! Went to take a look and couldn't see a thing though. Lucky for me there was a witness, said he heard the collision and that the car pinged the panel in (front driver side) before driving forward pinging it back out, and then drove off! He followed the Black Evoque and took down the plate no. - kind kid - Good bottle of wine in it for him !f they pay up. Light scratches in the pic above was all I could see after close inspection (gave the panels a light tug, and can't see how they might have 'popped' in and out, but I'm no expert. Will obviously be getting it checked out properly. Insurance (Sainsbury's funnily) said that with a witness it's more than likely their insurance will pay up as opposed to contest it. Inclined to visit Porsche body shop first (anyone know which one Guildford uses), but insurer insists their recommended ones just as good.. annoyingly they're resurfacing the road I live on this week, so car will stay in the garage until next weekend. I try to be so careful when using the Supermarket car parks, time to switch to Ocado...<rant over> P.S. Scrape and run drivers REALLY piss me off!!

5) try this experiment: drive over the kick plate at starting at 15mph with no hands on the wheel of whatever car you're driving - never tried it in the Boxster, but in my GT3 we found that up to 23mph or so, the car actually catches the slide itself and you just have to take hold of the wheel and unwind the lock once maximum oversteer angle was reached, was hilarious!

As I have a BGTS on SS with PDK I might just stick with a car as equal as possible in spec to mine and then I know what I should be able to achieve (he says, knowing he wouldn't risk too much in his own car!
)The point about booking another half day makes good sense, if travel from Guernsey fits in.

My sympathy, really! I am also extremely careful. A near full supermarket car park brings me out in a sweat. Needless to say I try not to take the BGTS when at home, but when on the mainland (this weekend coming) I know I will have to risk it at least once

Thanks cibble10, me too!!! Estimate came in at £912.00, couple of scratches are deep enough to require a strip/repaint/blend over the panel. I'd probably skip if I was paying myself, but as there was a witness I am more than happy to give the offending party a taste of their own medicine...assuming the insurance co. are happy with the estimate!P.S. ... Witness said they hit my car while backing out, then had to go forward and out again. Chap was a super star, said he ran off after them to get their plate.Wasn't aware of the 10 point thing(!).
Was a 14 plate Evoque, I foolishly thought it would be safe to park next to a newish car with a decent gap :/.

Yes, you are correct, this for the fronts. Mine has the Carrera S wheels on it, which you are correct are a 8J in terms of width. So a 245 would technically be the wildest tyre which you can fit on that wheel. However, I've been wondering if anyone has done this for track day use? As I was planning on getting a spare set of wheels. Depends on which wheels you have - if you have the sport technos - they are slightly wider 8.5J same as the GT4 and so will probably support the same width tyre without any risk.
