I had to return my BGTS to have a bit of cosmetic paintwork rectified under warranty at Reading OPC. The issue was with one of the rear wheel arches. I came over from Guernsey, they spent the day removing the rear bumper, cutting back and repainting both arches, at the same time thickening the paint in this vulnerable area, then blending in. While that was going on I was lent a 991 GTS for the day. Came back to a pristine car with A1 valeting done (and I am FUSSY!). Chap there called Tom Hallchurch coordinated things. Absolute gentleman.
You don't often find this sort of service, or sales person, in a garage/showroom so I am sharing!

Yup, couldn't find anything that I liked more about the 991 GTS. A touch of apples/oranges given my Boxster against the 991 coupe (and SS as against PASM), but ride, engine, engine noise, styling, I prefer my Boxster ETA Just seen your post that answers the question on the Cayman R/991 thread.

That's good to hear... saw my Carrara White Boxster GTS last Friday at Swindon...thrilled at the look of it - can't wait to drive it!!Took mine out today with the intention of taking her upto the redline. I managed it on a couple of occations for short periods only cause I was going so fast. PDK is amazing and the car was a real joy. Always been a 911 man but I wouldn change this car for any other (at this time ;-)) ).

A lurker and first time poster. I decided to get rid of my F80 M3 and will get my Cayman GTS in a couple of weeks. Really excited to finally get into a Porsche after AMGs, Ms and Audi S-cars.
I've browsed through most of this thread a couple of times, but I have a few questions regarding the performance on track. I'm replacing the stock tyre in favor of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. How do the standard brakes hold up? I'm going to change the brake fluid, but how do the stock pads and rotors hold up? Any suggestions for pads that work well enough, without being unbearable on the road?

Oh no, while PCCB's are excellent they are also massively expensive to replace and hard track work will kill them much quicker than normal, also if you end up in the gravel and get then full of stones it might be goodbye carbon discs hello 5k bill.
£5K per axle!I'd recommend the 911 Carrera S brake upgrade or wait for the GT3 brakes on the GT4 to make their way into dealer stock. The latter will require a hub swap out too.
