Ok.
Spent the day in a Cayman GTS on saturday. The weather was horrible but the car was fantastic, so much so I put my deposit down as soon as I returned the car to the OPC.
Question I would like to ask fellow owners. Car I drove had PASM which I found to be really good, very comfortable in the easy setting and still comfortable in sport+
I would like to spec mines with the SS but how firm is this compared to the hardest setting on PASM??
Ohh and the noise of that sports exhaust!!!!

The best way I can describe is the ride is not had hard as PASM in Sports + Mode but its firm and rides the bumps of UK roads without the crashyness. However, what you do gain is bucket loads of feel. The car feels soo much more alive with the X73 setup.
I believe if you order the car now, you should have your PEC at Silverstone before the car is locked down and then you can back to back the configuration options which is what I done.

It's a brill car. A few weeks ago i took out the macan for a few hours, returned to the OPC had a short drive in the CGTS & put a deposit down on the Cayman when I got back. What did the OPC tell you wrt time scale for lock down & delivery? I was told 12 months delivery time. At least there is plenty of time to change your mind on spec, colour etc Spent the day in a Cayman GTS on saturday. As AndyCGTS said you (both of us) will be able to tell the difference in SS vrs PASM on the PEC day. I can't wait.

Still dont really have anything confirmed on build delivery date Andrew911. They are thinking july/august which would be fin but i have a feeling could be later than that.As AndyCGTS said you (both of us) will be able to tell the difference in SS vrs PASM on the PEC day. I can't wait.
If it was 12 months i would have given it a miss.
Morning Guys,
This is what I wrote about my experance back in November:

I had 3 cars lined up for me at the special request of my dealer who I've placed the order with. I had a Cayman GTS with Sports Chassis, steel brakes and PDK, a Cayman S with PDK, PASM and carbon ceramic brakes and a manual Cayman S with PASM, carbon ceramic brakes and buckets.
I had these cars back to back in and around the experience center and also out on public roads to get the most from the day.
Suspension:
So first off, I took out the sports chassis car and didn't know what to expect as these are fix rate springs and dampers as well as other chassis tweak. I was pleasantly surprised how comprised the car was. Its firm but its not crashy as I was expecting really. Even on the country lanes, its a firm ride but it hands the road really well and a huge plus is the epic feed back from the steering wheel.
Next I took out a PASM car, even before I go to the track I could feel the difference. The car seemed to roll and wallow and bit more and also didn't turn in as nice as the sports chassis setup. However, the biggest thing for me really was the feel of the steering as it just felt numb in comparison to the other setup.
So my finial choice there was the Sport Chassis.
Brakes:
This was another area where I was pleasantly surprised, as I have read loads of comments about the carbon setups so was unsure what expect. In short thought I found them to give a much greater braking feel and they seems to brake the same as the steels but with less effort. Then going back to a car with the steel breaks, the peddle felt numb again and also required more effort to achieve the same braking results.
So I've settled on the Sports Chassis, Buckets and carbon ceramics on my finial build, which is good time as its all confirmed and sent to Germany this weekend. My built slot at the factory has also now been confirmed as late Jan 2015."
My OPC has also very kindy arranged my another PEC at Silverstone, which I am looking forward to again.I had these cars back to back in and around the experience center and also out on public roads to get the most from the day.

That would amazing if you get a lock down as early as July/August. I placed my deposit three weeks ago at Silverstone OPC & they predicted a Nov spec lock down with a Feb/March delivery. They hinted it could be sooner but they said they wanted to be realistic & manage my expectation. Tbh it doesn't bother me. I am happy to wait. I have no idea whether it is a first come first served basis irrespective of what OPC you place an order or whether some OPC's have a better ability in the order process etc. If it was 12 months i would have given it a miss.

I really dont know either mate. TBH I cant see me getting it that early but have told them i want it ASAP so i know they will put as much pressure on as they can............not that it might mean much.If i find out i am not getting a car until next year i will just be asking for my deposit back.

Andy would you say the SS is harder/firmer over bumps, potholes etc than with PASM on sport+??This is what I wrote about my experance back in November:

It's here at last!!!
Went to see the car lunchtime to give it the once over prior to paying for it before picking it up later this week. WOW. Delighted with it :cloud9
Excuse the smartphone pics (I will take a camera with me for the pick up).
Spec includes x73, MT, PCM. Didn't go for the buckets due to tight parking spaces at the office and a narrow garage!
It was worth the nine month wait
