Give your OPC a chase. I was told four weeks after placing order (initial deposit) & my OPC was spot on. Your OPC should pass on your details to the PEC team & you should hear from them.

I'm very sad to say I've just put my car up in the classifieds.

If anyone is after a phenomenal car then you know where I am

Why are you selling so soon? It was funny I was looking at some of your old posts/pics at the weekend as I'am leaning towards Guards Red with the same wheels as your car. Thought it looked stunning.

I'm getting married in June and by this point had hoped to have the money together to cover the wedding. Turns out not to be the case and the best decision is really to sell the car. I'm pretty depressed if I'm honest as it's the first new car I've ever bought and spent months deliberating over the spec and reading every little article about them.

But with things coming up in the near future I don't want to borrow to pay off the wedding so unfortunately the awesome GTS has to go.

Don't! Despite putting that in the advert I've already had 2 emails asking that same question!!

Sorry to hear that. I just caught a glimpse of your ad on PH. I'am sure you'll be back soon. Hope fully you won't lose too much on the sale. Not quite in the same league but will probably sell my new fireblade to help fund the Cayman. Btw must be some expensive wedding smileGood luck!

Thanks Andrew, I hope so too!!

You won't be sorry, the GTS is just absolutely brilliant.

The majority of the wedding is already paid for, but looking at a shortfall of about £8k which I need to fund by shifting on the car.

I had a cheeky play on the configurator to work out the difference between list price, I wanted to see how the GTS prices are holding up as an owner myself. Given waiting lists and your spec (which is lovely btw) I'm surprised you didn't go for a cheeky over index on list. I would have if faced with the requirement to sell bowtie

Very nice car for someone.

Have you thought about financing the £8k? At current interest rates it will almost certainly cost less in interest than the depreciation you are likely to suffer on the GTS - and you get to keep it! Win win?

Will people pay top money on private sales?

Dream on!! Unfortunately the GTS is a regular production Porsche model, albeit a very good one and in demand. However it's not a GT3 or a GT4 so no chance of selling near, at or over OPC used, much less, new prices. Realistically as a starting point half way between trade and OPC forecourt price.

I guess it depends what people want.

I personally didn't feel it was acceptable to advertise this car over list as you are quite right, it is a mainstream model. However I chose the price I did based on the following:

- I wanted to make it the cheapest GTS available
- It genuinely has a great spec
- It's priced favourably to the other cars on the market
- There is a long waiting list for a GTS so currently there isn't heavy depreciation, some of the OPC cars are over list!

I could probably hold out for list price but that may take a while. Now I've made the decision I would rather get it gone for a fair price and have the cash in the bank.

Usually I understand it about the price gap to an OPC car, but the car is only a few months old and comes prepared exactly the same as an OPC car. In my eyes there is no reason for it to be more expensive or cheaper than an OPC car as it is exactly the same. I'm even happy to put on a suit, serve Appletiser from a mini fridge, instruct my wife to be to ask you to take a seat, keep you waiting for 20 minutes and try to flog a load of other stuff when the buyer comes round for that full OPC experience!

I have other commitments which means borrowing £8k at this time isn't particularly helpful and with my sensible hat on selling the car is the right thing to do (albeit a difficult and ultimately dull choice).

Ultimately if somebody wants a GTS and doesn't want to wait 9-12 months then why not buy the cheapest one in the country, which (in my opinion) also happens to be the best spec too

Well, sorry you have to decided to part company with a great car, good luck and hope you are successful in getting the price you anticipate.

I saw your advert and the car looks amazing, wont take long to go i'm sure.

Sorry you have to let it go, it would of course be a lot cheaper in the long run to keep the car and not get marriedbiggrin and you also save on the divorce settlement later when she takes your car anyway

That looks absolutely stunning, I had an order in for a BGTS in Riviera for 3 months,I was pulling my hair out with the wait, the next 1 will be Riviera for sure. Stunning!
I went with guards Red in the end, got it in December, had it coated with G Techniq Ceramic coating so easy to wash and it looks amazing with very little effort. I would recommend it to anybody but especially for that colour.

Dreaming is fun, besides, Im not saying that the car will go above index, more likely simply interested how much I've lost to date smile. Whilst I completely agree that this a mainstream car and we will never see GT3/4 prices, given waiting lists, lack of RHD GT4's and the pending announcement of pot4's It will be interesting to see how residuals hold up on the GTS 981 given the context of this back drop. I suspect the Spyder will be the best non GT to go for residuals. Also If I was in a position where I had the money and it didn't matter to me, why not pay list or slightly above to take a nearly new one, if its a stunning example (as this one clearly) is and the spec you wanted. Trust me will be a long summer for those waiting for their GTS/GT4's, couple of grand in it, I know I wouldn't wait.

Well I hope you are right - having only just taken delivery of our GTS! Certainly if 981/2 gets the utterly uninspiring sounding turbo flat four depreciation will certainly not be too bad. Look at 997/2 GTS prices, holding amazingly well.
