Yes, great deal, what options are you getting just out of interest?

If I could make a suggestion I would ditch the power steering plus.

When I tried it before it made the steering feel far too light and not conducive to a sports car feel. All personal opinion of course and if you've tried it and liked it then fair enough, but if you haven't I would seriously advise against it.

I have the steering plus on mine and can't say I've noticed anything bad about it. Only comes into play at parking speeds to help the ladies park ;-)

This is the reason, not my choice but explained perfectly. clap

Good set of options there.
I’ve just returned from my PEC day and there were several cars in Carmine red which all looked superb enough for me to question my choice of agate grey.
I’ve gone for very simple spec of x73 and PCCB. I was planning on PTV also, but my instructor talked me out of it. The two cars I drove didn’t have it and felt absolutely sublime with my extremely average skills.

12,000 Mile Review and Pictures

So I finally pushed 12k in the car this week, I use it as a daily drive so that's to be expected I suppose. The car is great, it even survived a day on a track recently (see pictures).

Here's some thoughts on the car after owning it for about 8 months , in the hope that it may inspire/help others.

First of all, I specced the car first and foremost as a luxury vehicle, hence why it has PDK, Leather instead of a manual and GTS interior. I like it, but it may not be to everyone's taste.

There are also a raft of toys on it, inc ParkAssist F+R, Camera, Speed Limit display, Bose, PCM with phone etc etc. I love these and don't think I could live without them now.

I haven't used the online services that's installed as it seems redundant (the car connects to bluetooth audio and also has DAB, so spoilt for choice). I would also not spec the PTV system again, it just seems to have added to extra brake and tyre wear without any perceptible difference in handling.

The Pirelli P0s are awful. I used to have Pilot Sports on a Civic and a colleague has them on his new VXR and they are so much better, there's just no grip and on hard lock they skip all over the place. I'm plan to run these to the ground, then get the Michelins again when they come out with the latest in an N rated tyre.

A couple of things only you would notice that might be worth considering are the LED lighting pack, and my absolute favourite secret pleasure, the aluminium sill that can be seen in the last picture. Someone a few replies ago said you only see them for a few seconds, maybe so, but it makes me smile every time I open the door.

The car still looks and drives great, though the paint and screen have all taken damage. One of the joys of owning a new car is watching it slowly disintegrate! The front splitter and new LED running light look fantastic, though do have a habit of collecting stones and empty burger wrappers.

It seems just as happy to roll along in auto as it does attacking a corner in second gear manual with the sports exhaust cracking and popping away.

Hello everyone, first, I hate to be sacreligous in your eyes - definitely on good friday (my late Mother would not approve) but I don't know a fat lot about porsche cars- sorry everyone. However I would like to confirm I have the wit to watch read and write so I am off for a test run in a cgts in the morning. I have read a lot of the comments here and I have come down to the following potential spec. I should say I don't want anything but a 6 as the new 4 turbos won't have the same cachet I think. I am looking for a retro style - so here goes...

Colour - signal yellow - will go well with the black detail - a proper classic stonking colour I think
wheels techo with part black or maybe another style all black gloss - I would have the black gloss details kit as well.
interior - fairly plain but with alcantara for the wheel and seat panels - maybe the doors too. The odd bit of porsche embossed in the headrests - but no more.Probably black is best bet or very dark brown
Comm pack I think - for resale - although its expensive. Heated seats - keeps off the chalfonts....

any other thoughts... suggestions welcome - sorry for being a bit gormless - but obviously the car is a classic in the making and so far ahead of anything in the sector it's a no brainer....

I’m keeping things simple and sporty with alcantara (not GTS pack) interior, PCCB, X73, Agate grey, Satin platinum wheels and possibly PTV .

@sfboy
which Michelin are you looking forward to? Same size or P0s? Manufactured approved?

I love the ones in the GT4.

You'll find lots of PDK vs Manual, PCCB vs steel brakes, X73 vs PASM stuff on here. There are no right answers to any of these questions and the only solution is to consider YOUR priorities, try as many options as you can, and choose what you prefer and suits how will use your car. Re colour, mine is Basalt Black and a complete PITA unless you get some masochistic pleasure from cleaning cars.

Yes, I was specifically thinking about the GT4 Michelin Cup 2, Chris Harris has a whole thing about them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9-Sr8RPty4&fe...

Size is not the same. Do you plan to change wheels (not sure anyway if you need GT4 wheel hub also).

I've had the same idea at swapping the P0's for the PSC2 but the problem is the front tyre. You'll need to go up to a 245 on the front from a 235, the rear it's no problem though.

However, you'll need a N rated tyre for warranty reasons.

Yes - at Silverstone. It's pretty brutal, don't know if I would want to use it on my own car. Although Porsche say it doesn't limit the number of times you use launch control, the book of words does emphasise the additional stress using it places on the drivetrain.

I'm off to PEC soon so I think I ask to try it on their car.....

Haven't a clue how you do it and don't trust myself to read the handbook in case I'm tempted...

Easy. PDK in drive, select Sport Plus, left foot on the brake, sharply depress accelerator to its stop, Launch control lights up, foot off the brake and go! If you don't release the brake in 5 seconds the system deactivates launch control to prevent undue stress on drivetrain.

A pretty useless gimmick to be honest, can't imagine any situation where it would be useful.
