Tried at PEC, not on mine.

Slightly impressive, not really useful.

I'm off to PEC soon so I think I ask to try it on their car.....

Haven't a clue how you do it and don't trust myself to read the handbook in case I'm tempted...
Use Sport+ mode, hold the brake, mash the loud pedal then it should say lunch control active and release the break.

12,000 Mile Review and Pictures

So I finally pushed 12k in the car this week, I use it as a daily drive so that's to be expected I suppose. The car is great, it even survived a day on a track recently (see pictures).

Here's some thoughts on the car after owning it for about 8 months , in the hope that it may inspire/help others.

First of all, I specced the car first and foremost as a luxury vehicle, hence why it has PDK, Leather instead of a manual and GTS interior. I like it, but it may not be to everyone's taste.

There are also a raft of toys on it, inc ParkAssist F+R, Camera, Speed Limit display, Bose, PCM with phone etc etc. I love these and don't think I could live without them now.

I haven't used the online services that's installed as it seems redundant (the car connects to bluetooth audio and also has DAB, so spoilt for choice). I would also not spec the PTV system again, it just seems to have added to extra brake and tyre wear without any perceptible difference in handling.

The Pirelli P0s are awful. I used to have Pilot Sports on a Civic and a colleague has them on his new VXR and they are so much better, there's just no grip and on hard lock they skip all over the place. I'm plan to run these to the ground, then get the Michelins again when they come out with the latest in an N rated tyre.

A couple of things only you would notice that might be worth considering are the LED lighting pack, and my absolute favourite secret pleasure, the aluminium sill that can be seen in the last picture. Someone a few replies ago said you only see them for a few seconds, maybe so, but it makes me smile every time I open the door.

The car still looks and drives great, though the paint and screen have all taken damage. One of the joys of owning a new car is watching it slowly disintegrate! The front splitter and new LED running light look fantastic, though do have a habit of collecting stones and empty burger wrappers.

It seems just as happy to roll along in auto as it does attacking a corner in second gear manual with the sports exhaust cracking and popping away.

lovely!! i spot my home circuit!!!

what time did you run? was you on the sprint and track day ran setups?? how did the car handle curb? sorry for all the questions but id love to bench mark my own vehicle against the GTS/gt4/Spyder. However I'm aware i do need to drop those nankang semi slicks if i really want to get serious! lol.

Just passed 3000 miles and had the surprise of 'oil at minimum level'. Very surprised with that level of oil consumption anyone else had similar??

I've not used any engine oil in 4500 miles. But I ignored the 2,000 mile break in procedure...

Even thought I've tested the launch control at the PEC I am unsure where you would use it in day to day life, unless you play the traffic light GP.

I've covered nearly 800 miles in mine now since collecting her on 1st March and mines not used any so far. However, I have been trying to follow the break in process but now and again I give it short blips.

Most of the time I leave mine in Sports mode with the PDK in manual, I still find the sound the car creates very addictive.

Any photos from your meet?

This weekend I did Surrey to South Wales, Brecon and down through to Neath, before coming back through the country side (on way to London) vs. M4, amazing weather, quite roads and the sport exhaust was just pure addiction.

I just want to repeat it now, however, I'm not sure its healthy for my deprecation to put +500 miles on her in a weekend, but then when the suns out residuals go out of the window! smash

Am sorry I couldn't make it in the end. The weather was perfect for it.

Tried to upload some pictures but size is higher than 2 MB so I can't, at least using forum's tool.

Yes, exhaust is so wonderful. A lot of bikers there I can't believe in terms of sound and average speed on bends I was far better. biggrin

The whole experience this car gives is something difficult to find on other cars...thinking about my second option, Nissan GTR...too civilised. Really, need to compare to 991 GT3 or 458 Speciale.

I honestly don't know of a car outside of an F-type that has anywhere near as good as sound for under £100k. Even the GT4 on the videos its PSE sounds more polished, compared with the ostentatious sound the GTS produces.shout

I reckon it will go down as one of the best exhausts, especially with the pot4's and turbo'd 911 in the gen refresh.

Hi folks,

Has anyone gone for the GuardX paint protection on their CGTS?

Also is the alloy, tyre and minor repair insurance worth taking out?

I have a quote from dealership just need to decide if I want it.

Did a bit of research on GuardX and doesn't seem to be good reports and expensive for what it is.

Cheers

I have now got it on my CGTS after my OPC messed up my bonnet by mistake, as compensation they did the whole car, I have to say it's been over a month now since wash the car and the protective coating is working a treat keeping it looking very nice and shiny. I can't remember how much I was offered it for, when I originally bought the car but like you were sceptical about the value and there being other superior products out there if I so wish to set the car. Now I have it I quite like it and would be tempted to refresh in a couple of months or look at other products that might even provide a better finish/ durability

I'm getting a used car but think I'm going to get it detailed by a professional and then coated with this.

Gtechniq Crystal Serum Paint Protection Coating
Like no other product, Crystal Serum provides paint protection with previously unachievable levels of gloss, durability, scratch and chemical resistance.
Its composite structure offers the ultimate in ceramic protection plus the same slick finish and candy like gloss as the very best carnauba waxes.

Apparently this lasts for up to five years and seems to be very good. Worth searching for a detailer in your area and seeing what services they can offer you.

I have spoken to a local detailer that can do Crystal Serum on the whole car for £750. Reviews of Gtechniq are great!

Guardx OPC looking at £600.

Think I am going to pass on GuardX

The other insurances are about £450 each. Just not sure if they are worth having??

My previous experience is that the dealer products are not worth it so I avoid them.. My last car was detailed before collection by the specialist dealer and it has been brilliant for the last year and is only now starting to show signs of needing refreshing.
I'm hoping the crystal serum will be even better.
£750 seems about the right price with window and wheel protection as well. Can I ask where a outs in the country you are?
I'm looking to get mine done around Swindon.

I am in edinburgh and detailer is in Perth, there is a video showing his work on a red CGTS on YouTube. Looking at the paint protection film too which for bumper, wings, full bonnet is £900.

After further research tonight decided to pass on GuardX.

Reading up on the small print of the alloy wheel insurance, tyres insurance. Would be I retesting to hear if anyone has got it and made a claim.
