I am in edinburgh and detailer is in Perth, there is a video showing his work on a red CGTS on YouTube. Looking at the paint protection film too which for bumper, wings, full bonnet is £900.

After further research tonight decided to pass on GuardX.

Reading up on the small print of the alloy wheel insurance, tyres insurance. Would be I retesting to hear if anyone has got it and made a claim.
I'd thought about paint protection film, but figured I need to draw the line somewhere and my car isn't new and the budget keeps stretching. Also if my current habits keep up I won't have it long (5 cars in the last 4 years!).

When I was talking about wheel and window protection I was meaning the GTechniq product not insurance - not so clear when I read the post back lol.
I think someone on the Macan forum took out tyre insurance and they paid out, but I've never opted for this insurance myself.

My quote on Gtechniq includes the wheel and window product. I know what you mean drawing a line on what you want to go for, I have been trying to get things sorted on my order for nearly 4 months, but finally sorted.

Pleased to hear your order is sorted and I look forward to seeing the pictures. At least with a 4 month wait you're getting a new car to your spec. Mines second hand and has been sat in the dealer for nearly 4 weeks since deposit trying to sort out the V5. Missed two bank holidays and now I'm going away on business so it's going to be May before I can collect it. :-(. Still everything comes to he who waits so they say! And at least it will be very shiny.

I have had the G Techniq detail on my BGTS. It is very easy to clean, never needs polishing and looks awesome after a wash and dry off.
I have had it done for around 4 months and 3500 miles. When in very bright light I can see some swirl marks appearing, not what I was expecting as I am very strict with pre wash snow foam 2 bucket method etc. I would still recommend having it done I didn't expect it to be some wonder solution to protecting the paint 100%

Looking at have this treatment on my CGTS guards red. Wish I'd had it done before delivery, what, roughly, is the cost. Pm me if you prefer. Thanks.

I have been quoted Gtechniq crystal serum with exov2
With wheels off and protected with crystal serum &exov2 as well as brake callipers.

£325 plus these extras
Upgraded to CS exov2 £250
Wheels off £125 recommended.
Glass £50
With CS black you will get a 7year warranty.

So £750 in total.

Plus I am going for the full bonnet, bumper, side wings and mirrors paint protection for £850

Any more pics of Dark Blue Metallic? I knew I'd seen this one in here a long while ago and found it again after much searching. I haven't found any more though.

Really interested in seeing DBM with the satin black alloys. A tall ask, but I'll throw it out there for you.

TIA.

That is a stonking spec & I would definitely go with Agate - it's a great colour. Personally I would go with the sports suspension (maybe bucket seats???) and platinum wheels I think. Everything else totally spot on and I'm very envious of your choice. Enjoy!

Interesting about the swirls. I will have to quiz them over how to wash it and how long I can expect it to last. My current Cayman was brilliantly detailed before I got it (not with crystal serum) and after 12 months of TLC is only just starting to show the signs of needing a top up.

Detailer inspected my car earlier in the week and advised that Crystal Serum is probably one of the best products on the market, but it is only as good as the paint underneath the crystal serum coating. I was advised that whilst my car looked great I had some swirls and flat spots so was advised a 2 stage machine polish before applying the serum. Will also have the windows and wheels coated with Gtechnic product and the engine bay detailed. Price around £7-800 depending on the actual time required. I think I trust this guy and he seems to know his stuff and was happy to inspect the car FOC at the dealer before quoting. I'll post pictures of the job once done.

Thanks, thought about sports suspension as I do think it looks better, but as it's going to be a daily driver and I have a couple of speed bumps to deal with PASM looks to be the sensible choice. Same reason for not going with the bucket seats. So can't wait to pick it up the waiting is driving me nuts.

Ref buckets, they are *very* comfy. I initially left them off my BGTS spec as I thought they'd be like the buckets on my GT3 I.e. Great for a hoon or track session, but sub optimal for DD or touring. Then I sat in a CGTS with buckets at silverstone and found out they were completely different and a lovely fit smile

Are the buckets placed very low? No problem for me but my wife is 5ft 2in and will occasionally drive the car

I don't remember them feeling any lower than the sports seats, but then I wasn't thinking about height specifically when I got in. I'd just pop in to a Porsche centre if you drive past one and ask for a sit smile to be fair though at 5'2" your wife is going to struggle in most sports cars - we've got a 2004 MR2 which I *barely* fit in (I'm only knocking on the door or 5'11") and my gf can only just drive it at 5'3" hehe
