Thanks for the offer Andy I am just outside Edinburgh. And bizarrely buying CGTS from Bournemouth OPC due to the great service down there.
Holey Moley, I am the other end of the country. Oh that's ironic, as mine was a Bournemouth car. Who was your sales person, just out of curiosity?

I have been dealing with Karl. Great all round service, disappointed in both my local OPCs.

Gave up on Guernsey last year and bought mine from Reading OPC. All down to a few personalities... There's a message there for OPCs that they'll probably never all learn... All of Guernsey's sales go through the same guy in Jersey who never responds to emails or calls and is still there after at least 8 years.....!

You are right regarding the qualities of the individual salesmen in the dealerships - I always had an excellent relationship with Bournemouth, bought three cars from them until I got screwed by a salesman there who was completely clueless. I purchased my next two cars from another dealership, the first salesman was first class, sadly he left by the time we ordered our current Boxster GTS and the second guy wasn't a patch on the first one unfortunately but not as bad as the Bournemouth one.

Any dealership no matter how good can make a cock up, it's what they do to put matters right that counts and Bournemouth failed miserably on that score.

Will at Porsche Tewkesbury is really good he's only a young chap but helpful and knowledgeable. Plus he didn't whimper when I was test driving the GTS along my favourite B roads to see if it could do what the Evora does.

I've just booked mine in for a checkover and oil change, as the car has now been offically run in then it will go to a yearly oil change after that. 20K or 2 years seems to long for my likeing.

It seems UK is running out of CGTS. I've been told from my OPC they've got only one left and that's it for this fantastic car in UK.

Then let the turbos be with us. Ahahahah.
Sadly that makes sense, the Nanny-State EU is bringing in much more stringent emission and noise regulations, the latter will mean the end of PSE on new Porsche's as the rules ban even switchable flap operated exhausts!

I was told this last month but asked to place a deposit anyway in case some more build slots came up at the end of the year. The OPC tried to get me to order an S with as close a spec. as possible to the CGTS, but I held out accepting the risk that I may end up just being in the front end of the list for any new 4 cyl. car next year. The problem for me is that if that is a turbo car I will end up ruining (sorry modifying) it due to the lure of easy ponies.

Today I was told that I have a July slot for August delivery, so hopefully I can get to Silverstone to make sure I do want a manual with SS, buckets and PCCB. So many voices for PDK but I've never liked certain aspects of dual clutch boxes whenever I've driven them -But I've not tried the Porsche one.

This car will be a pampered tool for weekends and Euro tours, hopefully. (However if a property sale falls through I'll be offering the slot, but who would want a manual??)

It's been interesting reading this thread for lots of information, most of which I will probably ignore!

So I'm selling my Cayman GTS, and ordering another at the same time.

The bank won't give me the morgage I need to buy a house I was looking at with the ca payments, so I've got to get rid of mine, buy a house and then buy another.

Is it better to sell privatly or just trade it in?

Um, this is going to seem suspicious, but all I can do is state that I am not connected to, nor will receive any kickback from it.

Porsche Mayfair, who I placed a deposit with for a CGTS have told me that they have received two more allocations for cars from Porsche. One is now allocated to yours truly and the other is available.

If anyone is interested ask to speak to Daniel. And if I do get a freebie out of it (yeah right) I'll go halvsies. Unless it's a keyring or pen.

Booked into Silverstone next Tuesday, hope I like the car.

Cheers Carbon80, it is Carmine Red. I really like the shiny black wheels as I have had the GTS black exterior pack which is also shiny and together it looks really smart.
Bugger to keep clean though. biglaugh
