Apologies for being pedantic but it's a flat 6 and flat 4 not V6 and V4....my minor OCD wouldn't let me not mention it! Everyone carry on!
And to be completely accurate the flat 6 is a boxer engine and the flat 4 almost certainly will be. (Unlike the 512 Berlinetta Boxer Ferrari which had a flat 12 but NOT a boxer engine at all!)

My major OCD forces me to clarify that.

You guys can tell I am not a mechanic or engine worldly wise but now the clarification is made I recall the difference. I should have stayed with 6 cylinder and four cylinder, but if we ever refer to Mazdas on this thread I might even have to be careful with the word cylinders! eek

I thought the 512s etc were technically 180 deg V12s wink

The grey is a nice colour, works well with the yellow PCCBs smile We did consider it but I couldn't bring myself to order a grey car. Nothing wrong with it, but since it was going to be my personal spec, I wanted something a bit more unusual.

Yes they are - any flat engine with only a single crankpin for each pair of opposing cylinders can be regarded as a 180 deg V. I have actually seen it said that the 911 isn't a boxer and somewhere else that it definitely was. Having seen a couple of pictures of the crank it definitely is a boxer, unless there are some exceptions. I'd be pretty sure the 4 will be - you'd get some difficult vibration issues if it wasn't.

Huh? I thought any flat engine with the cylinders horizontal was a boxer, what are we saying is needed to classify a flat engine as a boxer?

180 deg V on left, boxer on right, both are flat engines

Gone with the Agate Grey CGTS. And delivery is expected in the next 5 days! So can't wait! And no more configurator for a while :-)

That's a great colour. Have been thinking about it too. There's a lovely BGTS by my office in that colour and it looks fantastic. Cool but understated.

Mine is on the boat now too smile

I do like Agate, but thought it would be too dull, when combined with my must have Carerra wheels in Platinum.
Struggled with colour too, but settled on Carmine, with shiny black exterior bits and the Platinum wheels biggrin

The rest is, Man-box, X73, PTV, Dual Climate, basic speaker upgrade, Nav, sport design steering wheel.
All standard trim inside.

I can't wait to get my hands on it now!

It seems to be luck of the draw regarding tyres! Some are on the P-Zero, some on the Godyears. I know the P-Zero well, but have never tried the Asymetric2, but think I'd like too.

Mine is also on the boat - I went White with satin black alloys.

I am getting so excited - agreed to pick it up on 1st September for the registration plate. Waited this long might as well wait a few more weeks!!

Nope, not doing that eek

I'm collecting on my own plate anyway, so not fussed about the number. Also planning to keep it ages, so little difference between 15 and 65 by the time I sell. I do get it, but NOTHING could stop me collecting at the first possible moment smile

I am the same, getting mines delivered hopefully on Saturday. It's been a long wait but so worth it. Was speaking to OPC and any new orders are 2016 deliveries now.

Xpel coating to front and bumper organised for next week with gtechniq new car detailing. Will be a long wait for the car transporter this weekend.

Snap! Mine is here too, collection on covered transporter Monday to a detailing company for XPEL to front bumper and rear 'impact areas', Gtechiq Serum and Canoe keel strip (in yellow) to underside of front bumper. Collection on Friday, in the middle of my first two weeks off in years.

At the PCE on Wednesday we managed to get the CGTS 'too hot' for a launch control trial (not due to my track driving abilities I hasten to add), had to switch off and on again. I know I don't need them but the carbon brakes were incredible. They also denied, after checking,(?) that the button under the throttle pedal was anything other than a 'stop'. First thing I will do is RTFM. There's a chain in this thread about this isn't there?

Happy collection everyone.

Interesting, my detailer is around today doing the Cayenne and he said another client of his has just ordered a CGTS and its 2016 delivery. What is interesting is how strong demand is right up until the facelift - makes you wonder when Porsche will do the facelift, as with current demand for the flat 6 NA they may need to push it back.

There has obviously just been a production run of CGTS's given how many of us are getting them over the next few weeks. Enjoy everyone, looking forward to hearing your experiences.

I hear similar stories as well. Some dealers I spoke to have said the same. Others have said there are no more orders at all (except for theirs of course!). The good dealers are good. Though I am still surprised by the presence of chancers in this day and age where a lot of buyers have a lot of information to catch them out.

Slightly off topic but does anyone have x73 in London and have lived to tell the tale? That's one item that I can never decide on being London based. I have ordered a manual but it almost makes no sense to say it's for a pure experience if the suspension is Pasm!
