I hear similar stories as well. Some dealers I spoke to have said the same. Others have said there are no more orders at all (except for theirs of course!). The good dealers are good. Though I am still surprised by the presence of chancers in this day and age where a lot of buyers have a lot of information to catch them out.

Slightly off topic but does anyone have x73 in London and have lived to tell the tale? That's one item that I can never decide on being London based. I have ordered a manual but it almost makes no sense to say it's for a pure experience if the suspension is Pasm!
If you skip back to page 147 of this thread you can see some worrying pictures of a BGTS with PASM, not x73

Not sure why there is this antipathy to PASM - I think it gives you the best of both worlds, comfy when you want it, and more sporty when the mood takes - and still perfectly usable on most roads. I haven't seen anyone complaining about it on the GT4 - there isn't even an option on it.

They also denied, after checking,(?) that the button under the throttle pedal was anything other than a 'stop'. First thing I will do is RTFM. There's a chain in this thread about this isn't there?
On my Boxster GTS PDK if you're in auto and mash the throttle to that stop, it drops as many gears as possible in one go and off you go. Can't remember if it does it in manual mode as well

It will still do it manual mode. Assuming you have the gear selected high enough. However normally I would drop the gears before planting anyway, so irrelevant.

Not sure about the silver wheels, hey ho.

Apparently the car is going to be featured in an episode of something called shmee150 and his blogs. I think the audience might be a little underwhelmed that it's only a Cayman, the film crew were probably seduced by the colour!

Topaz Detailing have been fantastic so far, willing to accommodate changes, late requests, Tracker fitment at their works etc. I'll post how the XPEL and Serum looks in the flesh at the weekend

My CGTS arrives today! So can't wait been a long time coming and all the indecision along the way making changes on that configurator. But now I can finally enjoy it. Will post some pics once I see it in the flesh. Goes for detailing in the next couple of weeks and after going to see a couple of cars already completed going with CQuartz protection. Saw a 5 year old R8 in it at the workshop and the finish is just stunning and the demo of the protection level

Thanks guys!

Colour was a headache choosing, was going to go carmine red, but so glad I went with the Agate Grey, detailing gets done in a couple of weeks, couldn't be more happy with it. Already been offered above the book price for it. But think it could be a keeper. Total strangers have even been coming up asking to have a look.

The hoot with these 981s is that if you completely de-badge them many observers struggle to tell what they are. Even the ones who can recognise Porsche family styling often struggle to identify the model.

Congrats DC20, yes I am always more and more convinced it will be an istant classic, considering turbos coming...

Post some pics of int's too.

Re model, a colleague of mine told me he always confuses it for a 911 when he sees one in the front.

It is definitely a Porsche design, but I understand people are not used yet to this new Cayman. The old ones are so different in terms of stance and appearence and they are more common, so when people see the new one...oh yeah, it is a Porsche, but mid engine and he has a stance close to a mid engine Ferrari, just smaller overall, what is this? smile

Congrats DC20. Looks stunning. Mine being picked up in a few weeks and can't wait. I went for Ehite but was tempted by Agate, hope my white one looks nearly as good!

Amazing already being offered over list - obviously instant classic but having waited so long I guess they couldn't pay you enough to take it from you......

Here’s a couple of pics of my two week old GTS at a local car show.
Many comments on how good agate looks by onlookers.
Was given obscene hand gesture on way out though by a Porschephobe!

Thanks folks! Past 2 days have been nuts! Everyone that's saw the CGTS is completely sold on it. One of my mates who got a CLA Merc 2 weeks ago is already looking to sell it to buy a CGTS he loves it that much. Already been offered £7.5k over my list price which was pretty steep with all my extras. The GTS exterior pack was definitely so worth it, and just had to buy the Ali tank cap :-) the carbon illuminated door entry guards they look amazing.
