I have pretty much read all 156 pages of this topic and it is really interesting looking at everyones spec's that they have chosen. Also i always get great service from porsche sheffield which it seems a few of you don't. I got a great deal as i buy lots of cars from them and I ordered mine in July and it is coming in october so not a massive wait, i got the last GTS of the year, all others orders are being taken for next year now from about april onwards i believe.
i have chosen,
BGTS
PDK
sapphire blue
platinum satin wheels
bose
PCM
heat seats
GTS exterior pack
fold mirrors
dimming mirrors
F+R PDC with rev cam
cruise
bluetooth
Debating over the GTS interior pack but at another 2k its already pushing the budget as it is.
Big debate over the X73 as well but think i'll stick with PASM as it is going to the the everyday car will do at least 10k per year in it. Plus the other half has an A45 so if want to knock my fillings out then i'll just take that!
Another big debate is the bucket seats but my girlfriend is 1ft 2 so no height adjustment would be a problem.
Would like your thoughts on the spec though?

Having had mine a month or so and done touring and track day in it, my 2p:
- bin the reversing cam, regular sensors are more than enough, never had problems and I live in london
- sport design wheel with paddles is a must for me if you're getting a PDK, buttons were horrible on the car at PEC
- I have bose and I'm not sure i'd spec it again, spend most of the time listening to the engine and when I do listen to music, realistically I'm in a reasonably noisy car so I'm not expecting great things anyway
- climate control is good, def required i'd say
- exterior pack with shiny black looked OTT for my liking when I saw a car with it on factory collection, glad I didn't get it
- consider bucket seats, expensive but unbelievably comfortable and in conjunction with GTS interior pack make the car look amazing and very high end
- adaptive cruise: if i was going to throw another £1K at my car, this is what I would have got.
- smoking pack, extra 12V socket for free, what's not to like
- PDLS+, good, but wouldn't spec again probably, don't drive much at night
- PTV, can feel it on track but not on the road, so only get if you're tracking it IMO
Thanks chaps. I had two zone climate in my 2012 981 boxster, never used the auto function and i don't think i am that bothered about having two zones again?
Sod it think i will go for the interior pack as well then! Maybe it will command 1k more in price when i come to sell it?
with the car being blue would you go for the red stitching or the rhodium?

As per Mario149 comments and after spending nearly 6 monthly with the car, I was regretting not ordering the reversing camera but now I am used to the car it’s really not worth the extra money. I tend to agree with the Bose as well, its ok but it’s not great as I do find it overly bassy. However, it’s much better than the standard offering in my opinion. However, as above I do spend most of the time listing to the glorious flat 6 sound track as that’s what really sold me the car.
The few items which I should have ordered which I still miss are:
HomeLink
Speed limit display
Door sill guards in carbon, illuminated - I'm in the process of getting this fitted at my OPC.
I can highly recommend the ACC Cruise, as that really is my guilty please its makes driving the car on long trips really effortless. It’s also very good for freaking your passengers out.
I agree with the smoking package, as it add an extra 12v socket and a nice little cover where it would normally be a recess

With a Blue car, I'd personally go with Rhodium / Silver. curley said:
Is the speed limit display an extra ?
I have it on my BGTS and didn't order it , seems to be part of the standard spec ( with Sat Nav option ) ?
The one that displays the limit from its map memory is standard, the one that has a camera that picks up road sign limits isn't I have it on my BGTS and didn't order it , seems to be part of the standard spec ( with Sat Nav option ) ?

I know it's not to everyone's taste but I like the high contrast of the red stitching, either way the GTS interior is great!
Here's red with my Riv Blue CGTS
I'd also like to see some more pics of the Mexico CGTS, I have a Voodoo GT4 coming soon(ish). I know its sad but I emailed the picture of your door card to my other half earlier. we have red stitching and wondered how its going to go with Voodoo Exterior. Here's red with my Riv Blue CGTS
Always happy to oblige :-)
It's Riviera Blue which is close to Mexico but Mexico is a bit darker. This is the colours together, Mexico on top.
This was back at the dealers in March prior to pick up day

This is the car now with its partial GT4 decal (I've got the decal that goes in front of the wheel arch too but prefer it without).
When I was deciding on colour I came across a couple of pics of Saphire Blue with red stitching and they convinced me blue with red stitching would work.

Had my CGTS for three months now and truly smitten. Already completed a big european trip with my soon to be father in-law (R-8 Spider) and uncle in-law (911s). I'm marrying in to a family of petrol heads! Got a couple of track days booked in too. Having come from a Granturismo S the agility and directness of the thing constantly astound me. First Porsche.

Nice, and three very nice cars to do the trip in.It's really the only way to get 100% enjoyment out of your car, if you like driving properly.
In fact, we haven't taken a summer flying holiday now for 3 years. Been all over Swiss Alps, Austrian Alps and Dolomites. Out of this world experience.
I have done the last 3 trips in an Audi RS4 cabriolet, but the three cars you have taken will have been a much better drive.
At any point did you wish you had the BGTS to flip the roof off? The reason I ask is that I'm struggling to get one, but I can get an allocation for CGTS. Honestly, would it have made a difference?
Cheers,
Jay.
