Horses for courses, but imo its fking ruins the car. Why ever have pdk without the paddles.
I am surprised my steering wheel has caused so much angst! My thought process:
1. I had the sports steering wheel in my Cayman R and I thought it let the car down.
2. I loved the PDK box and the sound of the gear change...
3. I like MF steering wheels, they make sense.
4. F'ing Porsche won't let you have an MF steering wheel and paddles (!)(unless you purchase a Macan in the US?!)
5. I have bought the MF steering wheel (in carbon) and will get a Techart agent to retro fit paddles for me.
6. Sadly I am in Guernsey so 5. is a tad delayed!
Method in my madness...
Well, as much as I do like the car in- and exterior wise, the awesome PCCB stopping power, the engine rev and sound, I do have complaints about the steering.
On high speed Autobahn cruising the car is very stable due to the self centering force, making high speed lane changes when taking over the steer wants to go back to neutral very fast. In normal driving I do feel it too, it almost feels (excuse me for what I`m going to say now) like torque steer.
I think it is to much self centering, it takes a continuous force to keep it in the right direction when turning in. I do not know if people are experiencing the same ?

Can't say I have experienced that, but I didn't have chance to go really quickly on the autobahn. But at 110 (175k) or so mine seems absolutely fine. Cayman S PASM (set to stiff on the autobahn) 19" wheels. Pzeros. I did quite a few autobahn's in the summer 120 ish most of the time and didn't notice what you described. Do you have the power steering plus option?
I have the 20" CC, PCCB, Power Steering Plus, PDK, PASM, PTV.IMHO there is too much resistance in the steering, too much self centering power. I always have the feeling I`ve to work the steering wheel, maybe it`s the caster, I don`t know, but the car needs constant attention on steering, that is not my kind of steering, like I said, it does feel a little like torque steering.
Some other, minor complaint; The steering wheel is too thin. I have to admit I`m used to M steering wheels, but in all the M cars I`ve driven I never had to work the steering like the GTS.

I have most of the same but not PTV or power steering plus.
When I tried the 981 at launch I really didn't like the steering in comparison to my then 987. A year later I had a drive in another one and it felt completely different, the only difference, apart from a year, was power steering plus on the launch car. So I ordered my car without it and I am really happy with it.

Others have said that cars vary because of actual geometry set-up of a particular car, and that this varies significantly from car to car (regardless of the options specified). Having experienced that sort of thing, I do think it worth having your car checked to see if it is within manufacturer's specs. Many would argue that typically the car is rather more inert as opposed to the nervousness you report. When I tried the 981 at launch I really didn't like the steering in comparison to my then 987. This sounds a lot like a geo problem rather than a mechanical steering problem. I'd have a 4 wheel alignment done and ensure you're at factory specs. Or if you want something custom to suit you in particular, book in with Center Gravity or similar for a bespoke set upIMHO there is too much resistance in the steering, too much self centering power. Well, my BGTS does not have the GTS Interior Pack, and the dash and cappings are plastic.
You have a unique car then as full leather / alcantara is the standard specification for Boxster & Cayman GTS. I have the standard interior and it is most definitely leather on upper dash and door trims other than the alcantara inserts, lower dash, door pulls, gear lever / selector, centre console box lid and steering wheel. The GTS interior pack differs from standard with carbon trim, red tachometer, deviated stitching and coloured edging on the seat belts. The leather and alcantara is the same as standard.Krobar said:
You can change track with the stalk so I suppose it depends how often you change volume and operate the phone. Also I think you can get paddles on all models but you need to pick the sports design wheel (2.7 I test drove had paddles)
Also the MF steering wheel has the controls for the MF display.... I read when configurating that the stalk alternative for the sports steering wheel is not great. I probably use this functionality more than anything. Edited by Krobar on Sunday 4th October 22:52

My car is left-hand drive, so no issues either with reaching the volume knob.
Very happy with the sports wheel - looks, feel, lack of clutter...
Woo Hoo, after placing a deposit in July I have just heard that I have a January build slot for BGTS. Will be delivered for 1st March 2016. Over the moon as I thought I had missed the boat. This will be a long term car for me and I wanted my spec to be 100% mine.
Many thanks to OPC for managing to get me a slot.
