I’m now researching insurance options and most are requiring a tracker. Is that the general situation and is it best to go with the Porsche approved version?
Mine has the Porsche VTS system, which was dealer fitted at a cost of £1200.00 + 1 Years Sub (£215.00 ~). I know mine was a requirement by the insurance due to its value (75k + )

You can get some small discounts. I managed to grab one when I ordered mine but
got fed up of waiting after sticking a deposit down for a CGTS way back in July. Decided to go for a heavily specced used one instead with a full 3 yr warranty saving about 7k off my intended build and about 16k off the actual spec.

Am happy because I think having a brand new one would have been stressful trying to keep it clean or being dinged etc for the first few months!
Do you mind me asking what you paid for yours in the end as that sounds like a hell of a deal - 16k off actual spec list price must be quite a way under the cars currently in the classifieds..

When I was asked to go into OPC last week, it was to put a build together. I have an allocation now and it should lock in a couple of weeks. My Porsche experience is on 2nd November, so this should be good timing if I feel I need to add anything I like or remove anything I don't need.
Would you not be better doing the same, at least you will know what options you want. Also, I rang to book my experience week 3 in July, November was the earliest slot they had. I have been told of another guaranteed allocation for a January build, but I'm not sure if this has been taken up. May be worth a call if you want to PM me.

Jay.
Good idea re the PEC day. Fortunately I already have a 981 Boxster, and I'm comfortable with the option choices based on my current spec, and what I want moving forwards smile

Oh, sorry.
I didn't realise that. You will know everything then. If you need the contact as regards allocation just let me know.
I'm so looking forward to BGTS, had a range of RS audis over the last 7 years. Non of them have been a proper drivers car.

Jay.

I've updated my front side indictors to the GT4/911 spec, which looks much fresher IMO.
Right: 991 631 256 05
Left: 991 631 255 05

Challenging to fit?

Cheers

Hey all. I picked up my shiney new CGTS last weekend and absolutely love it. I will post pics over the weekend. But a quick question - I noticed the brakes are squealing at low speed when I apply brakes from 20mph to standstill. I'm assuming this is normal as the car has only done 100 miles so far?

yep normal. I had steels and they did this for the first few hundred. In the end took it out warned up and did some hard breaking to clear it

i.e. 60mph to 10 mph a few times. never come back since. smile

Mines squeak very rarely (CGTS), with 2.9k miles on the clock.
Usually from low speed to standstill.

It is absolutely normal, due to big discs and calipers, for a sportscar.

I love the race car feeling, as this issue is proper of a race car

I saw it last week. Not sure it works like it does on the GT3 scratchchin

I agree.
Whilst it looks nice, it needs mahoosive spoilers to carry the colour.

I also saw it last week when mine was in for an oil change now its covered 1500 miles.

I thought it looked really good and agree a GT4 would look sensational in viper green.
