CGTS16, I used Chris Cooke from Summit Detailing ( http://www.summit-detailing.co.uk/ ) to detail my new car 2 years ago. He came to the Salisbury area so I don't think they would mind a further 30 minutes travel. He did a fantastic job on my white car which has still got a pretty good shine today.
Thanks Dreds bow

I have just sent an e-mail to Chris to see if he will travel to Bournemouth Porsche for me and ask him what detailing he would recommend.

I pick up my car this Saturday from OPC Bournemouth, on Monday its off to Eclusive Car Detail, for a full detail along with the fitting of Suntek paint protection film to the front bumper, full bonnet, rocker panels and wing mirrors, the car will be gone for four days, to allow all the gtech products along with paint protection film to dry out properly before driving again. You should check out his web site his attention to detail is second to none.
Thanks for the recommendation Tyrell and your spec looks amazing. I bet you're super excited now with just one more sleep to go. Post up some pics when you get the chance.

I have e-mailed Exclusive Car Care about the detailing options and Suntek film. Have you had this film fitted before?

Yes very excited lol no sleep for me tonight biggrin Never had a clear bra fitted before, however I have had a Cayman S before which did attract the odd stone chip to the bonnet, along with plenty of chips to the front pu so trying to avoid all this with the new car. Reason for choosing Suntek over Expel was that Suntek is a smidgen thinner and apparently more glossy in appearance. Car is off to the detailer for several days next week so will get some before and after picks. Had to laugh OPC thought that their contract cleaners would do a better job with Guardex product laugh

Fantastic. I heard the same about Suntek and it should be completely invisible. Will be really interested to see your before and after shots. That is quite funny about the OPC. They made the same comment to me when I was there on Saturday and were questioning why I would want to have a professional detailer detail the car rather than them using Guardex which according to them has a "lifetime guarentee!"

I hope all goes well tomorrow. I'm so jealous and gutted I have to wait till March! banghead

Hi
If you're going for the front grill set, may I advise getting the rear intake grills as well. They look the part &, possibly more importantly, add a sense of balance to the car. You won't be disappointed.

I am considering those for mine (BGTS collect in a few days) - do you mind me asking what discount you got?

Did I read somewhere about any grill in front of the intakes invalidates warranty? Maybe I dreamt it but I thought I saw something in the manual. My car's all tucked up under its cover so can't check

I have the full grill set on my BGTS and looks a lot better.

Do not know about the warranty but I do know it stops all of the autumn leaves from blocking the grills, stops overheating and stops the grill rotting due to piles of leaves stuck in there.

Grills now standard on the GT4 and Spyder.

Saturday blast as usual.
Filled tyres at 2.3 bar, just after leaving my garage. Display was showing 1.9 bar, fill info -0.2 bar (outside temp was 4.5 C).

Once tyres were warmed, display was showing 2.5 bar. Far better handling, control and steering wheel feeling; not mentioning fuel consumption shown for today's trip.

Bad news with regard to oil consumption.

I did a top up of 0.5 l at 2300 miles and after 650 miles minimum oil level reached warning, again.

It means my engine uses 1 l per 1300 miles, well at least during its first 3000 miles. It's a pdk car, I use it mainly during week ends, long distances, i.e. no chance to have water mixed to the oil.

Not really happy about that.

What's your oil consumption?

Mines used about 1lt (or what ever the small bottle size is) in 6400 miles, it's miles better than my Civic Type R I had years ago. That little thing used to used 1Lt every 1000 miles or so, good old VTEC's!

Im pdk 9,000 miles only needed 1l after 5,000 miles and I would say I drive v hard whenever I can. Did a full oil change at 7,000 (after 1yr) and haven't needed to top up since then. And haven't lost a bar of oil on the in car reader.

I don't understand the reason behind. Basically mine uses 4 times the oil used by yours.

Not sure if it's linked to the fact that I use the car only on weekends, average sporty drive, but very rarely higher than 6000 rpm.

I'm not measuring intervals, but I've 20,000 miles on my 981S, and have only had to top up once (apart from oil change) in all that time...

Presumably your garage is heated? If so, try filling to 2.4 bar there next time when its this cold outside, as it should get you to 2.6 -2.7 bar when warmed up which I've personally found feels quite good

It was 4.5 C when I was filling tyres at 2.3 bar. Same outside temp during my trip, with max pressure registered of 2.5 bar (car not really pushed hard).
Sure with 20 C outside pressure would go up to 2.6?
