Thanks Trev. Last car was just a Golf GTD through my business, prior to that I had a Mini JCW GP.
Just had a hankering for something fun again, was originally looking at 997.2 Turbos and 991 Carrera S', but stumbled across the GTS and saved myself a few quick versus the other options!

As the GT4's are in la-la land in terms of used pricing, this little heavily-specced beauty has got me thinking :-)

I test drove that in September, it was 72 then. I offered them 67, they turned me down. Dealer principal car http://tinyurl.com/z9wjrsw
I looked at this car a couple of weeks ago. Was quoted £21,000 plus my 997 GTS and that valued my GTS at £48,000 so price seems to be coming down all the time. Probably would have bought if the cost to change was £18,000 but OPC seemed more interested in selling me finance - cash back on mine, then take a bigger loan, that sort of thing. I prefer to pay cash so walked away. Mind you, my 997 GTS is a pretty nice car anyway and it's paid for!

As a guide, when I did buy a car I managed 8.5% off the advertised price. The car I bought was likewise heavily speced (£16k) of options which wasn't ideal but my thoughts where when your looking at 2nd hand there's always a degree of compromise. For me that car had to much yellow going on but the blue looks lovely to my eyes in the Cayman.
If you can (I struggled a bit) I would take your time, decide what the must haves are and look from there, the market will come to you to a degree although prices will usually firm up in the spring. My must haves were very specific which narrows the field but there are cars out there
Good luck, I've not regretted it, wonderful car

Cheers - I will be discussing it with them tomorrow - end of the year and quarter so it may be a good time to buy :-)As a guide, when I did buy a car I managed 8.5% off the advertised price. From what I can gather, the price is pretty close to the list with the options (apart form Buckets which aren't on the configurator). I'll see if they'll move on it. As it's Sytner, I'm not too confident.

Just deleted the Porsche code I created to check the spec, I priced it at £72 new without OTR package but then they have a fair bit of margin anyway. I'd look for something between 5-10% off their advertised price. To gain an end of year discount they will say they need the money cleared by tomorrow I'd imagine (that's the message I was given)

I have read in press that the facelift 718 Boxer will be available from April and the Cayman will be a further 6 months, I would think that could be the time the GTS becomes available on both models, pure speculation. My local dealer will only confirm the 718 Boxer availability. They will not even tell me how many "Letter of Intent" they have already received for a 2nd Gen GT4 which is really annoying, as I could be wasting my time with them.Edited by Estoril Sport on Thursday 31st December 17:51
Do you really think that the GTS will be available that soon? I thought that the new 718 GTS would be 2.5 turbo according to what I had been told. There has been no mention of this engine yet in devopment terms, not that I have come across. I still prefer the NA/6, the noise is sublime.
