Interesting, thanks! So that's 280ish GTSs plus Q4 2015 and Q1 2016.
There'll be a good number of GT4s in Q4 2015 and Q1 2016, and I think I read in another thread that given the average number of allocations per OPC there'd be around 250 for the UK.
Broadly similar numbers of each then in the UK, 250ish versus (maybe) 350ish.....

I debated long and hard about X73 sports suspension, but I've gone with PASM for several reasons:
- mine will be a 100% road car
- my local roads are very varied in condition/quality with plenty of speed bumps
- I'm not keen on the 'slammed' look unless it's a GT car with the associated spoilers and splitters
- I like the PASM technology, it seems like a step up from a completely passive setup (and the GT4 has it!)
- there was nothing wrong with the handling of the PASM car I drove at PEC last year

Nice spec, very different approach to mine - but that's what all the choices are about isn't it?
You've got a very late spec freeze considering your build date is only a couple of weeks after mine. Good luck getting to the PEC this month!

Lovely, but a couple of suggestions:
1) I'd ditch the PDLS+. I've got it and unless you're going to be driving lots at night, I wouldn't bother. And even if you were it's marginal, I've only used my twice in 6 months
2) Think you could save on the steering column leather as well, I don't have it but I couldn't tell you what the column looks like on mine now and I drove my car yesterday, so it can't look that bad
I've specced PDLS+ at the moment as I have adaptive lights on my X5 and they work well. Does anyone know if PDLS+ just alternates between high/dip beam or does it work actively like BMW's system, effectively 'letterboxing' other traffic as it passes?1) I'd ditch the PDLS+. I'm also in 2 minds about the leather steering column - on the one hand I think it finishes the interior off nicely and I would definitely spec it with a colourful leather interior but with the standard GTS black interior without deviating stitching it might not be as obvious. Ditto Alcantara sun visors!

Superb info thanks, where did you get that from?
Similar numbers then, and manual GTSs are going to be hard to find if only 100 or so are going to exist!
From the howmanyleft site, just type in Boxster or Cayman GTS and make sure you check whether they're PDK (has S-A after it)Similar numbers then, and manual GTSs are going to be hard to find if only 100 or so are going to exist!

I do quite a bit of highway miles at night, both dual lane and multi-lane and use my high beam at every opportunity. So thought I'd give it a go.1) I'd ditch the PDLS+. The steering column casing is cheap and the contrasting stitching is a nice touch.

See aboveHello there
Sorry for not responding earlier. I've been out for a meal on the promise of a future 30k profit.
Seriously though, my point is, way into the mists of time, maybe >10 yrs or so, when we're all driving (or been driven by) electric slot cars, the visceral pleasure of a manual NA car will be very attractive. Especially after the enervating effect that having no input into a journey has: think of those boring journeys as a passenger: do you fall asleep? Add a relatively simple gearbox & suspension set-up to the mix cf with the complexities & expense of repair (remember cars depreciate: spares get relatively more expensive) of PASM & PDK etc & a simply specified Cayman GTS becomes an attractive proposition. Here, think of the arguments levied against spec'ing PCCBs new re: ongoing maintanence. Much more so than the stratosphericly priced stuff of today, as the prospective buyer pool is bigger.
The provenance accruing from rave notices in the press/YouTube et al, pre GT4, won't harm the Cayman GTS' future kudos either.
There I've said it, I'll go lie down now while I await the fallout. My tin hat & flak jacket are at the ready.
Phill/Twinfan, I'm with you.
My GTS is specified leaning more to the comfort side of the spectrum. No PDK, nor X73, but Bose, cruise, GTS interior. Oh dear!!
For my sins I have to admit I do have a hopeful deposit in for a GT4 - so what do i know? But you can never have too much of a good thing, what?
