I'd recommend PDLS+ to anyone who drives rural roads. The continuously variable light between dip and full beam is excellent, a huge step forward from all or nothing manual dip/main beam switching.
+ 1 Okay, looks like it does go round corner and it def auto-dips the full beams when it sees another car

PDLS goes round corners too I believe. The '+' just gives the variable full beam dipping. I'm assuming you have to do two things to activate it - activate the '+' part and put the lights into high beam? Sounds like a faff to me, I'll be quite happy flicking full beam on and off as required instead.......

I don't know if the system stays 'active' after turning the engine off, or whether you have to turn it on via the multifunction display every time?

You just flick the stalk forward once form memory, it switches the + bit on then, you get a light symbol like normal but it has an 'A' next to it. If you push it forward twice, you get full beam with no auto dippingTwinfan said:

Doesn't stay active on mine (I leave my lights on auto-switch on) in the sense that if the lights on, you still have to push the stalk forward to activate the + bit with the auto dipping full beamI don't know if the system stays 'active' after turning the engine off, or whether you have to turn it on via the multifunction display every time?
Curley & AndyCGTS. You’re both grown boys now. Big up your own cars & PDK, I’ll concentrate on the CGTS manual, thank you. *
My comments re PDK relate to cars a few years/miles on when mechanical/electrical gremlins crawl out of the woodwork. Simpler , even by small amounts, may be more attractive to prospective buyers, as I said before the cost of replacement parts & labour don’t depreciate, they become relatively much more expensive in relation to vehicle cost.
But, then again what do I know: in years to come, the value of BOTH C & BGTS’ may have accelerated far further than even I thought: into the stratosphere & motoring nirvana, where major cost repairs become a mere trifle. ** Discuss.
Mario149, I think you may, very well, be right as far as the BGTS is concerned. High-end open-top exotics go for more wonga than coupes of the same ilk. To be honest, I'd forgotten the mighty Boxster, sorry! How could I, as I'd owned a great 'S' before.
Buyers of either car have a lovely, lovely vehicle. None will have been bought with future profit in mind (unlike other so-called limited supply “confections” from Porsche***): hopefully ALL will have been purchased because both models are thumping good driver’s cars. The choice of PDK or manual is a personal decision: it’s yours to make.
Enjoy safely, everyone.
I tried to incorporate 'smileys' but as usual technology defeated me. * = winking smiley ** = shocked face smiley
Lastly *** I know, I know: before anyone mentions that I have a hopeful deposit in for a GT4, all I'll say is "You can't get enough of a good thing, I'm greedy for more & there is definitely no such thing as perfection". Plus "you would if you could, wouldn't you??". I also do a little track work: nothing great, but I enjoy it every so often. What I will say is the CGTS is by far the most complete road car (as I'm sure the BGTS would be) I have ever owned, whilst not been the fastest, as a package it verges on the brilliant.

Great to hear - that's my thinking too. It's not the most exciting or speed shattering, but as a highly competent new sports car that still has some 'soul' I think it's a very attractive proposition.TTExige
"So a CGTS in manual with x73, ptv and buckets is the one to have to inflate in value ? Lucky me 😃"
Dead right lucky man! Only my humble opinion, obviously.
Incidentally, I see your attempt at a smiley morphed into 😃, just like me. Is there anyone out there who can defeat the gremlins & actually get a smiley to behave i.e. get one into a reply?

Thats a bit harsh , i first read a thread on page xxx make a humorous comment against a current post and get chastised .......
And why would i big up PDK ? my cars a manual ( and the better for it )
Oh, the wonders of forums. Really sorry, absolutely no offence or chastisement intended, Curly. It was an obviously botched attempt on my part at humour that has been misread.
It's a curse of the written word that body language, facial expression, voice intonation & telling pauses fail to be communicated in the cold light of the printed word.
Again, sorry for any offence
